10 out of 5 stars!! Best coffee on our 3 week trip around South Island. Everything in the bakery looked amazing and all made on site. Their pies were delicious with the lightest flakiest pastry and loaded with tasty fillings. Home made chocolate chip cookies for the road…. Didn’t last long! But best of all was their lemon curd cronut…. heavenly and I am still raving about it. I wish I could pick this bakery up and relocate to Wellington! Yum yum yum!!!

People recommend the bakery because they have the best pie maybe. We didn’t try the pie, we got the bacon roll and sourdough. The roll is ok, not great though. The sourdough is kind of hard to tell. Not bad, but different from what I understand. The coffee is little blend to me, too much milk for flat white. But the staff there are really friendly, and the uncle is really cute 😊 Only bakery on the street, I think anyway the pie is worth to try.

The owner of this shop is a grumpy guy, rude to his hardworking employees. Hope you enjoy the bread coming from the dough fell on the ground and covered with dust and bacteria. And if you want to experience a ridiculous rampage during your stay in Oamaru, try stay in the shop longer, talking as much as you can with him because he’s talkative and show a little bit disagreement with his ideas. Hope you enjoy those wonderful bread.

Writing this review after my second time coming here. Sad to say that I was left angry and disappointed.

The first time I went was on September 2023 which was lovely. I bought the chocolate danish and got it toasted with no problem. Went there again recently hoping to get the same experience but I could not have been more wrong.

When I arrived, there were a crowd of customers. I have no idea why the woman at the counter chose to ignore all of them including me. I decided to look past it as all I wanted to do was to buy the same pastry. From my experience, no bakery I have entered has declined my request to toast the food that I’ve ordered, at least until now.

Upon my request to have the chocolate danish toasted, she repeatedly and condescendingly acted as if she could not understand what I was saying. When she could finally comprehend what I was saying, she replied that the danish could ā€œnot be toasted because it would get all meltyā€. Isn’t that the point?

I was left eating a cold hard danish that in a way reflected the attitude of the woman. Never...

WOW...... After reading the reviews we decided to drop in for lunch on our trip to Dunedin. In my 65 years I am sure I have not had a better pie, my first 2 choices disappeared as we queued but my third choice, the steak and jalapeno was amazing, the delicious filling totally filled the flakey casing and was followed by a lemon curd cronut which was a taste sensation as well. Needless to say we popped back for more on our way home.

If you are a foodie do yourself a huge favour and and indulge at the Harbour...

Quiet honestly the THE BEST PIE I have ever had and I have had a few in my time. Belgium biscuits that are not dry and crumbly nor are they over the top on sweetness, just perfectly soft and dreamy. Bread that is TRUELY baked daily unlike most places that I have found re-fresh day old bread and call it FRESH. I will leave the rest for you to make your own mind up on but if you don't believe me I challenge you to try this AMAZING LITTLE PLACE...
