Update to the owner's reply:
First, your apology is not a sincere one. You are very defensive with your stance.Second we were not able to say thank you as we are not happy with the situation and no one is in the till. You must have mistaken us with someone else. Third, not a lot of people want to complain in person so that is why google reviews exists as it is not just for positive but also negative reviews both ways to help your business. You yourself is a customer I assume and has made reviews on Google review about your experience on businesses that you went through. FYI, we have been into customer service for more than a decade so we are aware how to train staffs and how to make them act. If your staff member came in early on her own time she shouldn't be in uniform serving food this represents your company and it's image. We are not here to put your business down, we are here as customers who wants to make a difference with your business. Sincerest apologies that you cannot take an honest review and a constructive criticism.
It started on a good note up until we ordered a couple of hot chocolate and a salmon frittata. After our WARM hot chocolates had been served. We waited for a while for the salmon frittata. We ordered cabinet food as we were in a hurry. We thought it would be served in a jiffy but it became a longer wait. 2 people ordered AFTER US and they were served FIRST. The frittata turned out to be dry and also warm almost cold. Just as we were to enjoy our meal, the wait staff started "socialising" in front of our table with two of whom are regular customers and talk loudly and oblivious that she was still at work and even ignored the customers lining up on the till. Our first and last. Get your staff trained properly or give them a good orientation about...
Read moreWow this place is incredible. The usual stopover is BK but we didn’t want fast food this time, so we went here for brunch.
Oh my goodness. Brunch was amazing. The scrambled egg was just incredible. Perfect consistency.
Now there’s the bread. Maybe it’s just me, but a lot of places have fancy bread but it’s usually toasted and way way way too hard and crispy to eat, where I feel like I’ll crack my teeth on it.
But here, the bread was the most perfect consistency of bread I’ve ever had. It was toasted but still soft and went so well with the rest of the food. My wife had bacon and it was the perfect balance between cooked and a bit crispy but not over cooked and hard and leather-like. The price was also really good.
The feijoa smoothie/frappe was very good too but wish it was a bit sweeter.
Service was on point and very friendly staff.
This cafe puts many others to shame who overcharge and under deliver and give you waaay over toasted bread. The food and service was...
Read moreSadly this cafe is not able to cater for coeliacs. I visited on a busy day and had quite a curt and rude response to asking whether a dish marked GF on their menu was coeliac safe. I said I would be happy with anything but was told none of the options were suitable for coeliacs so we had to leave.
On one hand its good they have an understanding of gluten cross-contamination and were honest, but it's frustrating and unusual they were not able to make anything (albeit of course in a mixed kitchen there is always some risk).
Just wanted to post this as some of the other reviews here and their menu list GF options available.
Edited to refer to the cafe response: I was not offered a salad as I would have happily accepted that. No options were provided to me. Unfortunately I cannot switch off a lifelong medical condition because you are busy so I think my point stands that you cannot cater...
