Upon arrival, I found a nail on the bedsheet, a strong unpleasant odor despite ventilation, and stained toilet and carpet. The room didn’t meet the price I paid. All rooms should be renovated to the same standard, as I felt the other rooms were in better condition. Additionally, the housekeeping service was odd—towels were replaced, but no proper room cleaning was done. The shower filter was disgusting, and there was mold in the shower.
I didn't appeal complaint during my stay for several reasons:
I didn’t want to cause a scene, especially after a long journey from Auckland on my arrival day. And to be fair, I did attempt once to appeal my complaint but attached photo clearly shows unattended reception. I felt it was unnecessary to communicate directly with the property given the lack of respect reflected in the poor condition of the room. We had a tight schedule in the area with plans starting at 5am the next morning, so I couldn’t be bothered with further issues at the time. The availability was limited, as this was a last-minute trip.
My booking agent advised me this property denied my complaint and did not apologize for any of the factors I mentioned as per last photo attached to this review. I have only requested a partial refund, as I did stay for two nights, making this compromise very reasonable. Additionally, the ceiling of the wardrobe might not meet health and building compliance standards set by the local council. Read moreVery unprofessional owner. Please don't stay here if you want sanity of your head. We stayed at this property and it was just bad!! Beds are so soft (not nice soft) that we just sunk in, everything was so old, and it felt as if things have been collected from a junkyard. It was a nightmare sleeping on those beds!!
But, the biggest shocker is when we left behind a child's toy and phone charger. When contacted initially, the owner asked to send a prepaid courier envelope and later when I enquired the whereabouts, he put me to ransom to first delete a negative comment that I didn't even write at the first place and then hanged up on me. What a shocker!! This owner doesn't deserve any business who puts his guests to ransom and is not open to any criticism. Although I didn't write anything for you earlier, they have earned it now!! Well deserved!! No wonder your motel is falling...
