CHICKEN BURGER REVIEW NO. 2
I never expect much when it comes to any kind of burgers from a bakehouse/bakery. However, I was pleasantly suprised with what I got from "The Bakehouse Cafe and Roasts". Although it exceeded my expectations, it was by no means a perfect burger. For example, the burger buns were quite thin and, I don't know if it was just the burger I got, but I found two small bones within the chicken. The bones were not a huge deal, but I'd rather not have them in my burger in the first place. As for the positives, it was such a MEATY burger. Was filled very nicely alongside side some other standard but very nice ingredients (Lettuce, grated carrot, cheese and mayo). Overall it's a decent burger. Not blow your socks off amazing or anything, but will certainly leave you satisfied.
So with all that, I am going to give this chicken burger a four star rating

The potatoes was burnt and soggy, I asked if I could have a serving of fresh potatoes and was informed it was freshly made in the morning, I enquired about the sogginess and the burnt colour, was told that they heated it up to keep it warm and sometimes the colour comes out like that (I ordered at 11:30am, prime lunch time so it was not late and after rush). I’ve only had potatoes like this when it is either re-heated/fried the second day or it uses bad oils and was improperly stored, either way, it’s bad.
The pork crackling was also greasy and not crisp, as seen in the photos it is evidently that it was not pre-treated/cooked properly to extract out the moisture, creating the proper crisp.
The only saving grace was the pork itself was ok, and thus the 2 stars...

Whilst the staff may not be as congenial as other establishments in the area, they are polite, accommodating and remarkably expeditious! One patron in our party purchased the cafe style rump steak, which was prepared as per his liking with a side of fries and salad in 10 minutes.
