Beware! The lady behind the counter is a rude liar! I asked her if the fish in the fish&chips was fresh or frozen and she said 'fresh fresh'. When we got it we immediately knew it was frozen. I went directly to the chef and asked him and he confirmed straight away it was frozen. So I asked why the lady told us it was fresh. She said I asked her if it was fried. What a liar. Why would I ask if the fish in fish&chips is fried. And I'm not deaf, all my family heard u said 'fresh fresh'. She then stormed over to my parents and shouted at them 'What's wrong!' She didn't offer any solution to correct her mistake and kept shouting at us. She majorly disrespected my parents which I'm most angry about. I had to tell her 'that's all u can go now' as she obviously wasn't interested in offering us something else and just wanted to fight.

If we knew their food was frozen we wouldn't have gone there. It's a shame because all the other shops, cafes and people in Thames were lovely. I hope this lady learns some manners and doesn't continue lying to customers because it could hurt other businesses in...

Lady who served us was really damn right rude and instantly after she served us started gossiping about my mum and what she orderes mum asked for eggs benedict without bagels bacon or salmon and the lady was rude as heck talking with a tone and attitude so mum ordered what the lady said and i ate the bacon and bagels which was not that great and as the lady brought mum her plate she literally dropped the plate down hard enough to break the plate and instantly after she gossiped in her language another older lady came out to adjust serviets and gave mum a dirty look without realising i had seen her do so and as she did i gave a big smile and said hello i had never seen someone walk away so quickly i had a mince and cheese pie mince was terrible but cheese was great first pie i had that actually had cheese in it 😆 would not recommend at first i thought she was just being racist towards mum as mum looks more maaori than me but we then went to write reviews and quickly realised thag we should have done so before hand but now we know and 100% would...

Great food and coffee. It's not often that you find a GREAT place for both GREAT COFFEE and GREAT FOOD. Both take out and eat in. This place is the traditional style, excellent cabinet food, hot pies and cold sandwiches etc and cabinets of slices and chocolate eclairs etc PLUS a full menu board featuring at least five different traditional KIWI BREAKFASTS!
