Old Elephant House — Restaurant in Waitematā

That was inside the zoo at Western spring, 3 or 4 areas you can buy food and refreshments from, got in around 1200 and came out at 430pm, that's how big and walking u put in, but it's a must, if you re in Auckland with your family or on you own, my case, just didn't expect so many animals and crawling they had in there, had a good time as a grown up, 51 🤔😅, its for all ages, take time, I m sure they serve good food, and Dave, the guy that checks your ticket as you re interning the premises, we chatted, for 10 mins, just a blast, and then after 30 years, he s still there's, he just loves what he does and gets the customers entertained, either walking out or coming in the premises, thank you, enjoyed it,...

Terrible & rude service, we ordered a eggs benedict without bread. The lovely young lady serving then asked what would we like to replace the bread? Great we thought ok, maybe mushrooms or extra egg? Along storms a lady from the back (foreign accent) advising NO we dont have mushrooms and no you cant order anything extra and you still pay full price for the benedict because it is yours choice not to have the bread! WOW we wont be back and definitely wont recommend. The place was empty and now we know why. Not to mention the $20.00 eggs benedict comes out and its only one piece of bread with two bacon slices and two poached eggs drizzled with split yuck hollandaise...

What a joke ... fine dinning - you have got to be kidding! It’s a cafe with semi-self service and order at cash register. Drinks (Bellini and Bloody Mary) were remade (thank you) after complaining there was no ALCHOL in the drink! Food quality was good - but really, why not say “self service cafe” kids welcome as you will be of course, be dining with lots of them and screaming babies as well. Get REAL. So misleading on the online website zoo...
