Pizza Monkey — Restaurant in Waitematā

This shop serves exceptional pizzas and is another fantastic pizza spot in Ponsonby. I visited with my partner for our Tuesday date night. The place has a cozy atmosphere and is conveniently located near Woolworths.

Their special offer of $7 per slice caught our eye. Each slice is generously sized, with four slices equaling a full pizza.

We ordered eight slices, choosing four different flavors: Chili Chicken, Jalapeño Pepperoni, Spicy Bacon, and Truffle (short names).

Since we both enjoy spicy food, these options were perfect. The pizzas, cooked in a fire oven, were absolutely delicious. While they weren’t particularly crispy, each slice showcased the flavors of its ingredients beautifully. I especially loved the Chili Chicken slice - it was my favourite.

To complement the meal, we also ordered potato wedges, which was the perfect side dish, pairing well with the pizzas.

Pizza Monkey definitely deserves more recognition. Highly...

Found this little gem on ubereats while hunting for a new place to try for pizza night. We got the 3 cheese truffle, Aketea Tandoori chicken and the fully loaded. The 3 cheese truffle was absolutely divine, rich and creamy. The Aketea Tandoori which is named after the street pizza monkey is located at was a medley of different flavours and succulent Tandoori Chicken. The fully loaded as the name says was loaded like no other pizza. A meat lovers dream. The dough for all pizzas was on point, light and fluffy. You can taste the difference especially compared to your run of the mill pizza joints. Pizza monkey has just started and excited to try the rest of their menu. P.S. i'm happy we have a new pizza...

Came across them on UberEats, tempted by their Buy One Get One Free offering. They had a Three Cheese Truffle and Tandoor Pizza on offer... we wanted to get both, if we could and made a quick call and spoke to Nikhil, who was so nice and readily let us. Only opened two days ago - this place is so good! The pizzas were lip-smackingly good. While the Three Cheese pizza was subtle in its simple flavours, with a kick from the Chimichurri oil, the Tandoori pizza was heavier and as good with the mint chutney over the slices and onions throughout with heaps of flavourful tandoori chicken.
