Revelry — Restaurant in Waitematā

On a cold winter night my friend and I went to Revelry with the hope to enjoy some mulled wine and create a happy memory of her birthday. When we asked the bartender for mulled wine, he immediately charged us for two glasses then proceeded to pour us some red wine. When I said to him this is not mulled wine, he started looking on the shelf to see if he could find any! I then called him and asked him if he knows what mulled wine is, he nodded and started looking for it in the fridge! He then asked one of his colleagues and then they both started looking for mulled wine in the fridge. After he realised what mulled wine is, he said they don’t serve it anymore but also he said he cannot refund the money and asked us to choose a different drink. I asked for the manager who came up to us and the second I started talking (I had to talk loudly as the music was really loud!) she didn’t even let me finish my sentence and told me I was shouting at her! I said I was talking loudly because of the music, to which she said I was being rude!! After a few minutes of insisting that she couldn’t refund the money as the till system won’t allow her to, I said to her that this was their mistake and insisted on a refund. Then she changed her word and said they could offer cash back!! I’m not sure what was up with that place but I now know the worse place for customer service in town! Well done...

My main concern was with the bartender, I ordered a Jägerbomb to start and he didn't even drop the shot glass into the glass. the reason its called bomb is cause yo dropping it in ! . felt a bit overcharged I mean $12 or $13 is pushing it but $15 is not worth it. maybe $15 is worth it if its done right. The glass was half full as soon as I got it when really it should be half full with Redbull and then the volume with be 3 to 4 quarters full when the shot lands. I asked him after where's the rest of the RedBull and he said "thats all" I already noticed the rest of the can by the Bear taps. I called him out on it and he handed it to me. DON'T COME HERE UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR NIGHT RUINED! Whoever the duty manager was last night was the most condescending, power tripping piece of work! We felt that we were racially profiled and discriminated by the way she approached us in comparison to other patrons in the bar. We hadn’t been out in a longtime and had a wonderful day up until then. The bar had great music and the staff were polite enough, but she completely ruined the evening with that attitude of hers!
