Schapiro's Sports Bar — Restaurant in Waitematā

This place was very disappointing and missed the American theme. There was no ambiance and you had to order at the bar. The alcohol is insanely expensive for a sports bar as well. We like cheap drinks so we can watch an entire game. There was no cheap beer or wine to offer.

As for the food, they were out of ribs, so they clearly never cooked them that day. With that being said, it sounds like I did not miss out on much since there were only 3 of them. The wings were all skin and no meat, (really hot oil, so almost burnt) plus the waitress could not even tell us if they were hot or mild. The salads were over dressed and the the burgers were warm, VERY salty and we all had different sized patties. One girl barely had any meat at all. I returned mine, asked for less salt and proportion the bun to the patty. It did come out better, but would not come here again.

The price of the food, the quality and quantity does not make me want to come back and a lot of us had that thought. Plus I did not feel like I was even in a sports bar, minus...

We been so many times to your place, we loved UFC and been to cefas to watch it live! Today we came to watch it on your bar as we just came from our overseas holiday to Hawaii for a month. Well first of all , I don’t understand why all the doors is open and it’s damn cold.., you know it’s winter in Nz and I am pretty sure you know that or the management should know that! Tried to close the door but it keeps open due to people coming in. You should fixed this!

Drinks are great, service is good but omg your beer price is so expensive for a glass, not even a huge glass! I think it’s overpriced compared to other sports bar.

Anyway, we enjoyed it but it’s quite expensive for a bar only located at Symonds street ! You know what I mean !

At the end maybe because it doesn’t matter how much you charged, people still would come isn’t it...

I was expecting American styled wings, given its an American styled sports bar, I ordered the hot and spicy wings and they were more like chicken breasts and thighs they wre not small like the traditional wings. There was no sauce that accompanied the chicken and when I opened up the chicken meat was very dry. I was not at happy with the "wings" however the service staff were very good and refunded my money. Perhaps other people like their chicken almost crumbed with a rub but I prefer mine dripping with sauce like they serve in the States. Drinks were very expensive, I also didn't like the layout with almost the entire venue being seated. Took along time to order a drink at the bar, table service would have been nice....
