The Corner Store — Restaurant in Waitematā

Just want to thank Tim for doing an amazing job. He was so accomodating to our last minute request to come back for drinks in the covered outdoor area. Such a lovely atmosphere fairy lights, fires and tasteful surrounds. The small touches he made like water in stylish brown bottles and beautiful cheese platters and antipasto boards made for a great vibe. It would be a perfect place for a 40-50-60 th birthday . My mate and I went there late evening wanting any snack and one drink. Rover Gozdic said no food was available but we all know that by law that food must be served. And he said they were closing soon but the closing time was 4 hrs away. Not happy. Don’t recommend.

Side note: once we mentioned the legalities he offered us chips but by then we felt very unwelcomed. His body language made us feel uncomfortable. He is also not very articulate and doesn’t seem educated .

When you walk through the door it doesn't seem very big with the bar just in front. If you walk to the left side of the bar down the hall, you end up in a fairly nice dining and outdoor area. We had a few drinks in the outdoor back area which was covered. Really nice place to just sit and chat. We had a few platters and they weren't very big. Service...
