We went there at around 9pm, was served by the younger gentleman. Got our drinks and fried chicken and then after around 30 mins, guy with the beard started closing up the place. Loudly and passive aggressively. Looking at me and then his wrist a couple of times and making frustrating loud âughâ noises. No courtesy of saying at least âhey guys weâre closing in a fewâŚâ None. Just passive aggression. Do not treat paying customers like that. Am never going back to this place.
Updated comment: Hey team, appreciate your reply and initial investigation. Good to see that you are defending your staff. Unfortunately, you might have been looking at the wrong footage or were misinformed.
Sequence of events were: We ordered beer and fried chicken from the younger guy. We got the chicken, finished it, and he cleared our dishes. About, say 5 mins later, the bearded staff started doing what I said he was doing. I donât recall any interaction with the bearded staff except for him saying Thanks as we head out.
Am not one to bring down someoneâs business as I used to work and run hospitality entities as well and I would like to see Wellington hospo flourish again.

Read moreJust a five minute walk from our house, The Sprig and Fern in Berhampore is an extension of our house, especially with the arrival of our wee girl two years ago. Itâs a friendly and welcoming spot for new parents searching for the normality of their old lives and desperate for a drink and to feel like they are part of the world, and close enough to home to duck out the first time you leave a babysitter in charge and attend quiz night! Dinner is taken care of if the day has been âa bit muchâ with a basic but good menu, and the regular attendance of the Greek Food Truck. Our girl is now two, and confidently participates in pub life, chatting to the staff and patting the numerous dogs who visit. Yesterday we held a small celebration for her birthday, and had a magic time in the âgrassedâ area out front, which is separate from the rest of the outdoor space. Itâs safe, the drinks are great, and it feels like home. Well done to the fabulous team who have done a great job with this place, itâs a real...
Read moreWe dined here on a Wednesday evening. Upon entry we were told we could only be seated outside, yet there were empty tables where the reservations had left. We ordered a tiny menu of two items from the pop up store promotion, yet were waiting 50 plus minutes. What made this worse, was seeing other people who had arrived much later get the same item that we had ordered. 1.5 hours later I had to enquire how far our food was, we were told it would be another ten minutes after some confusion (we had already paid). Then after 30 minutes, one item arrived at the table. I had to follow up the second item again. Which was finally brought out two hours later. This was extremely disappointing and we felt ignored, and as if we were a burden to the staff despite the fact that we were there paying for...
