Just passing through Greymouth so we decided to stop into this mcdonalds on our way! The food is actually decent enough but the customer service is absolutely atrocious! You are made feel so unwelcome its crazy... the gentleman that was calling out the numbers and giving the food couldn't be less interested you say thank you to him and your just ignored... then with my order I ordered a iced latte which I always get with every single order... I never ever complain I usually even if the food is terrible will not complain but this ice latte was so sweet it actually made me start to feel sick i even asked my partner to taste it who has very big sweet tooth and loves things like that and even he said it was too sweet you couldnt drink it. So I politely went up to the lady and said I'm sorry this latte is just a little bit too sweet would I be able to get another one please... her face literally dropped like I had done or said something wrong she just said "yeah... okay it's gonna be a while" to which I replied no that's okay because in fairness they had started to get a bit more busy at that stage ... but I was made feel like I had done something wrong.. on a number of occasions they were just looking over at me I was just made feel very unwelcome... after about 20 minutes the lady came down with my coffee and I smiled and said thank you she then slammed my coffee down on the counter and just walked away... I then tasted the new coffee and there was zero sugar syrup in this coffee almost like to prove a point and to be petty I didnt even complain about that one I just accepted it as i said i dont usually ever complain and even with that coffee having no syrup it still tasted better ...never in my life have I ever been made feel like that in a mcdonalds before. I understand that people can have things going on in their lives behind closed doors but you do not have to take it out on one of your paying customers who just asked for another coffee.
I will never ever return to...
Read moreExtremely disappointed with our visit today. When we arrived, the restaurant was much too warm, it was very uncomfortable. Got our food for takeaway and took it to our car, only to find we were missing an apple pie. Went back in and waited for them to make more as they had apparently ran out and chosen to just send our order with one instead of making sure we had two. The person I spoke to was quick to help resolve the problem, getting some more cooked with a six minute wait. This was fine, didn't really care too much because it was an easy fix and they seemed busy.
However.
We got home finally, with our food. Upon opening one of my two burgers (McChicken) I had requested extra McChicken sauce. Instead, I find mustard, ketchup and pickles inside. This was disgusting. Especially when you consider that I open my second burger (Big Mac) which I had requested no pickles. Lo and behold, it has pickles.
This is dangerous and neglectful. If I had trusted the burger and not noticed the ketchup immediately, I could have been made very unwell due to a mustard or tomato allergy.
Very dissatisfied and disappointed. I don't think we'll be going back.
As I mentioned, the lady working front of house was great and very quick to resolve our problem when informed, but the problems with the ingredients is a huge turn off from the location.
Please please please pay more...
Read moreThe McDonald's in Greymouth is unfortunately not a good restaurant to stay long at.
Me and my friend ordered the biggest ShareBox with 2 Big Macs, 2 McChickens, 2 cheeseburgers, 4 medium-sized fries, 2 large-sized Cokes, 2 medium-sized chocolate milkshakes, 2 apple pies and 2 large-sized McSundaes. The fries tasted a bit bitter, the chicken of the McChicken old and not tasty and the apple pie was definitely one to three days old as the skin sticked to the cardboard. Because I realized my McSundae had been of a normal size, I got a large one additional to that. As my mate realized too, I went back and tried to explain to an employee but couldn't sort my words at that moment. The guy just turned around and proceeded with his work which I couldn't believe. When I asked the person who helped me before, he made another large one but just put it on the counter and dropped the spoon without even looking at me.
During the evening the employees had very loud chats with each other. When it started to rain the water dripped from ceiling on the seat beside us.
I would like to see that the McDonald's in Greymouth doesn't sell old food and improves their quality a lot. Also the employees should improve...
