Unfortunately the food did not hit the mark.
The yellow curry was by far the best and the rice was great. The chicken wasn’t great. The rest was good.
The curry puffs were burnt on 4 of the 8 and had an intense char flavour overpowering the curry puff. The 4 that didn’t have this was very nice
The roti was inedible, as tough as it comes and of all the this tried probably the worst of this type
The cashew nut lacked flavour and the chicken just wasn’t really hitting it, a very fatty type. The sauce had no punch. The veges were fresh and well cooked - the best part of the dish was the veges.
The biggest disappointment and thing that let a lot of this down was the crying Tiger starter. $21 for well done steak when it’s meant to be medium rare (like yes I expected it to cook a bit further in the container but there was absolutely no blood, this was definitely over done and I would have sent this back if dining in) - no to mention the heap of gristle on this steak also. I have attached a photo of someone from a year ago, very beautiful, to ours tonight…. Was looking forward to this and sadly got very let down.
The 2 servers were polite, took the order on the phone well and had nice greetings and farewells.
The restaurant looked pleasant and seemed like a nice place to dine in with 2 bars and plenty of drink for those wanting to dine in.
Parking was all good, spot right outside and plenty of spots around. Easy access.
Just sadly very much missed the mark again. If I come back and there’s a better experience I will be...
Read moreVisited once before and thought it was a nice place. Food was tasty, served with good coffee and what appeared to be friendly service. Going in again yesterday, 45 mins before they start winding down for the day, we were told by the apparent manager that they close by 3PM. No problem, we thought. We will have to eat quickly and be respectful. However, at this point we really should have turned around and left. No point of eating in a rush. But we saw there will still a few other customers, enjoying beers and having a laugh inside. So we decided to enter, despite the timer set on us. We were served good food and nice coffee, no doubt. But 5 mins before closing time - “we close in 5 mins” was told to us by the manager. At that point, we had eaten so fast that it was uncomfortable eating any faster. However, we were about two bites from finishing our food. Imagine being told to this just as your about to finish - it’s understandable if people are sitting past closing time, talking away; but it’s not acceptable to be told this, rushed really, into shovelling this food down your pie hole. It’s not like we were even talking more than eating. How fast can you eat a decently sized Pad Thai with coffee? You would need a bit of time, and never to be told to hurry up.
Anyways, the reality of this place came to light yesterday - rude manager, tasty food. Do I want to come back here? No. If we get treated this way by anyone, I would never want to go there again. Unacceptable, cheap and...
Read moreWe came to celebrate my dad’s birthday and we had a great time! Service was excellent, the food was flavourful and had lots of veggies. The portions were pretty good for the price. We got the pranam with chicken, pineapple fried rice with beef, massaman beef curry, soft shell crab, two bowls of rice and deep fried snapper. The beef in the curry was very tender, the soft shell crab was crunchy but also juicy and not oily at all. Personally, I think the pineapple fried rice needs just a bit more pineapple flavour but overall it was still delicious. The deep fried snapper was crispy but not oily and there was a decent amount of meat as well and some hidden veggies underneath the fish 😍 The pranam was my favourite as it had this flavour in cantonese we call it wok hei and it really elevates the dish. The attentive front of house crew gave us some plates, spoons and even a cake knife for our cake at the end of our meal and helped us take photos too. My parents were very happy with the experience. There are still a lot of things I’d like to try so I will...
