My recent visit to the McDonald’s on Ash Street in Avondale left me thoroughly dissatisfied. The poor service and lack of attention to detail made it a frustrating experience that I wouldn’t wish upon anyone.
Firstly, I ordered a Happy Meal for my child, excited for them to enjoy the accompanying toy. However, to my disappointment, the toy was missing from the meal. It may seem like a small oversight, but for a child, that missing toy can make a significant difference in their dining experience. It’s disheartening to see such a basic mistake made in a fast-food establishment known for its consistency.
Furthermore, the drive-through experience was exceptionally slow, even though there was no queue. I anticipated a quick and efficient service, given the circumstances. However, I found myself waiting for an excessive amount of time, approximately 20 minutes, just to receive my order. This type of delay is simply unacceptable, especially when there doesn’t appear to be any obvious reason for it.
Customer service was also lacking during my visit. The staff seemed disinterested and indifferent to my concerns. When I politely mentioned the missing toy, the response I received was apathetic at best. It’s disheartening to encounter such a lack of care and attentiveness from the employees, leaving customers feeling undervalued and unimportant.
Overall, my experience at McDonald’s Ash Street in Avondale was deeply disappointing. The forgetfulness regarding the Happy Meal toy, the excessive wait time, and the lackluster customer service all contributed to a negative impression. I believe that every customer deserves a certain level of quality and attention, regardless of the circumstances. Unfortunately, this particular McDonald’s location fell short in meeting those expectations.

There were containers of sauce packets on the front counter were food was picked up from. I haven't been into a McDonald's in over 15 years - I just presumed they were for us , I had ordered Nuggets for my nephew hence the visit. But instead of just asking me to cover the cost of the sauce which I would've done or interject my ignorance by saying sorry they aren't for free she accosted me as a scumbag criminal to the 9th degree. I corrected her by saying that wasn't what my intentions were but it just got worse. I could tell that thing weren't going right before I got there, timers going off, other staff weren't working as a team with her or vice-versa, a bit of stress was felt while I was waiting before the debacle but that's not a valid reason to then accuse, throw my receipt on the ground, threaten me that the cops will come and then refuse to give my refund in cash - why cash ?? Because I'm still waiting for my refund via eftpos i knew it would happen. That was a $50 meal for a few kids. If you do read this lady - I've worked in hospo I know a stressed out floor staff when I see one - there was no need to talk to me like that, no need at all. Either have a Assistant Manager with you or start on some team building exercises outside of work because what I saw was a broken team, a broken McDonald's and a stressed out probably over-worked woman. Read moreI ordered on Uber eats & I ordered a hot chocolate, pancake combo & a NYC Benedict bagel with fries. The hot chocolate was good so I thank whoever made it although the only problem was when I opened my pancakes I could see hair on it but it still slapped, maybe the people there don’t like their jobs, but you should still understand your customers & serve them the food they paid for. My fries were cold, and the bagel bun was really hard that you could probably knock a child out with it, I used my wall for example the bagel bun was very hard, I heard the staff were rude & that they should really be provided with training & good customer service. But not too much stress on them
