Restaurante Querube's | Granada Nicaragua — Restaurant in Sector Urbano

After a really good day, it was so disappointing to visit this place at the end of it. If you're looking for Nicaraguan food, yes, this place has it. If you're looking for the authentic Nicaraguan food experience, this place is as far from it as you can get. It turns out that this place is only interested in money, money, money - whatever they can grab from you. In my multiple weeks' of travel in Nicaragua thus far, it is standard practice to select the various courses you'd like for your plate, and then be billed a very reasonable amount for everything.

Well, you do choose what you like here as well, but then the final price charged turns out to be about triple (literally triple) of what you'd expect. The least expensive (yet incredibly delicious and filling) place I'd found previously came out to 90 Cordobas, although normally one would expect to pay between 110 and 150C for a similar meal as to what I ended up with here. What a gut punch when the bill came out to 396C (which included a non-alcoholic beverage to wash it down). No, they totally take advantage of tourists at this establishment with no logic or reasoning behind their pricing. For example, I took 2 small cherry tomatoes and was ultimately charged 40C or 50C for them (they didn't even know - I think they just make up pricing as they go) as it was an "extra" dish that was above and beyond what a basic plate would be. That said, there is no indication of what a basic plate actually is, so pretty much no matter what you order, you can expect you're ordering a lot of expensive extras!

Strongly advise against this place.

I came here because my spanish teacher told me this restaurant has good food and cheaper than those on touristic areas. The food was good but the price was not cheap at all when considering nicaraguan price.

I could find cheaper meal even at the restaurants on calle la calzada. :(

I paid c150 for this. Special rice, mashed potatoes, beans, jalapeños/onions, and salad. Expensive but fast service.

Edit: went back again and was told my plate would cost 130. But at the window they charged my 160. Was 3 stars now 2. Food is satisfactory but it’s not...
