This was honestly one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had, and it carried an unpleasant undertone that felt… racist. We chose a table outside and went inside to order. From the very first moment, the attitude while taking our order was unnecessarily rude, but I tried to brush it off so it wouldn’t ruin my day. We then sat waiting for someone to clear our table from the previous customers. Nobody came for more than 30 minutes. When I politely asked a server who was already attending another table using words like “please” and “thank you” she simply rolled her eyes took leftover plates and walked away without saying a word or cleaning/wiping table. Instead of being served like others, we were told to collect our drinks from the reception because the area was “blocked” yet I could see other tables being served directly without issue. And the clearest moment came when a group of white customers sat next to us: they were warmly greeted, their table cleaned immediately, and treated with friendliness we never received. It really felt like people of colour aren’t welcome here as if serving us is a favour, even though we’re paying (and in my case, tipping in advance). Trying to project “kind vibes” while quietly showing such disregard is beyond me. The food itself was fine, but the attitude and treatment left such a bad aftertaste that it spoiled the entire meal. I sincerely hope they learn to treat all customers equally, regardless of...
Read moreMy wife and I were looking for a small place to have breakfast, we didn't want vast quantities or elaborate dishes, so we read that this place up the hill from where we were staying seemed to hold the answer. It looked nice from the outside and felt quite comfortable once we were inside. However, I ordered a croissant that came without butter, and jam or marmalade were not an option as these were not on sale, therefore for me one dry buttery (given) croissant on a plate...hardly warm inviting breakfast fayre !! I think my wife had Avocado toast, which came swamped in balsamic vinegar and a smattering of the devil's food...pomegranate (seemingly the cure for all ailments and moods these days). We also had a cup of coffee each, which was passable, but on weighing the pros and cons up, we left quite a few Krone lighter in the pocket, still un sated and with a sense of disappointment. Sorry, promising from the exterior and disappointing after the...
Read moreOh dear! 7.30 booking... wasn't seated til 7.45 as person behind bar had to take all orders and upfront payments. The one waitress just delivered food and cleared plates. Seated at a makeshift table right next to the queue of people waiting at the bar to be seated/order/pay. Moved myself when possible. Both dishes (fish soup and pasta) arrived at once (8.20). Soup: tasty but 3 very small pieces of fish in the small bowl of fish soup. Sent Pasta back. Pasta re: arrived, 15 mins later...had to send it back as barely warm. Just kept on the side? Reappeared 2 mins later. There's al dente and there's not cooked. Also only 5 prawns! Couldn't eat it. No-one checked if OK even though I'd put the dish with uneaten food to one side. Go to an Italian if you want pasta. Paid up front (with 10% service)... no refund offered just apologies. I feel a bit sorry for the person serving behind the bar and the waitress. Badly...
