Anna and Marco, the friendly couple who own, run, and work at Agave, have accomplished in bringing an authentic all encompassing Mexican food experience here to Bergen Norway. I am an Expat from Texas, (mi papa er de Morelia Mexico) I have now lived here for a year and a half with my full blooded Norwegian counterpart. Needless to say, finding anything that comes close to satisfying my homesick taste buds has, up until now, been a challenge ending in defeat every time. Alas, that has all changed! The food, drinks, and atmosphere that Anna and Marco provide at Agave is nothing less than spectacular and authentic. We first stumbled upon Agave in September while they where celebrating Grito de Dolores (Mexico's Independence Day). It was festive, friendly, and full of flavor. Since then we have enjoyed their tacos, main courses, and jaw dropping drinks on more than one occasion. If you like simple, spicy, sweet or savory, Agave has something to offer you. Unpleasant manager. She asked whether the fish was good. I replied that it was not great. She tried to get me to elaborate, and just kept staring at me. Eventually she asked if the fish was bad, and no it had not gone bad, but it was cold and had some flavourless thick sauce. She eventually said, well itâs my favourite dish. I think that says everything about their food.
Then the manager kept offering us dessert since we were unhappy with the fish, but we had been waiting for our food at the restaurant for ages, and just wanted to get out of there.
That being said, the fish was deducted from our bill, but we were all unhappy with the food, not just the two of us that had the fish.

Cosy well put together venue, open and and good ceiling hight for being Norway. Located in the middle of heart of Bergen. The service is on point! Friendly professional yet not snobby or to formal. Open kitchen with happy native Mexicans who saludâs when you walk pass. The food is off the charts! New flavors and food combinations that Ive never experienced before. Perfectly cooked, and you can really see and taste the thought and love that where put in to this meny. Some of my favorite dishes was The lime marinated prawns with aguachili and cucumber, The scallop ceviche, the octopus glazed in morita sauce, the octopus in guajillo chili, the deep fried fish tacos and the Agave mole.. holy mol(e)y it was good, soo soo good!
