We had the opportunity to do all 3 rooms as a duo in one day. Below our findings.
In general: the rooms are nice, albeit very straightforward. The 3 rooms all cater to different groups and tactics:
"Varg Veum: Last Rites": the most difficult room they have. It has a couple of nice challenges and smart puzzles. The goal is not to "escape" per se but rather to gather clues to solve a murder mystery, and you need all the clues to see the full picture. Ideal for groups that did escape rooms before and/or like a bit more of a challenge. The room is not the most difficult to exist, but still a good challenge.
"Mirrors of madness": a great room for groups that have not done escape rooms before or want to take things a bit more relaxed. The puzzles are nice and modern. There are some nifty technological things involved and solving each puzzle leads to a nice "ah but of course" feeling every time.
"Hanseaticus": a good room for larger groups (4-8?). This room is more of a "solve everything we throw at you" rather than a sequence of puzzles. Different people can easily solve different puzzles and who knows, if you are lucky, you'll maybe get to see your treasure loot!
Our gamemaster, Sofie, was amazing, very joyous and out-going!
We had a great time and if you have an hour to spare, it's...
Read moreWe tried 'Catch the Murderer'. The room is slightly different as the goal is not to escape, but to solve a crime (who's the killer, what's their motif, what murder weapon they've used, and what proof of that do you have). We didn't manage to figure out the motif in time, which was slightly frustrating, but the debrief with the Game Master helped to put our minds at ease. The employees were very kind, supportive an positive which is a huge plus of the place.
Type of tasks: 20% kinaesthetic*, 80% finding connections. If you like mathematical and logical clues, it may not be the right one for you. It's not appropriate for beginners, I would recommend it for at least an intermediate player.
Escape Bryggen is Norway's oldest Escape Room company and I felt there was something great in doing a room located at the heart of Bryggen, a place on UNESCO World Heritage list, and the room is styled in a way that does transport...
Read moreThe old historical fishing industry of Bergen. It has been preserved from hundreds of years back and on goung renovation is beeping carried out in the same old fashioned technology which can be seen in on of the shops. Ergo everything is authentic as it gets. A real pearl of history to entertain you and on a personal note I would recommend to get a small glass of alcoholic beverage in one of the small pubs found there (not 2 so...
