As we walked along the iconic wooden buildings, we felt like we've been transported back in time to when Bergen was a bustling trading hub for the Hanseatic League.

I recently visited Bryggen – Hansa Quarter in Bergen, and it truly exceeded my expectations. Walking through this UNESCO World Heritage site felt like stepping back in time. The colorful wooden buildings, narrow alleyways, and historic atmosphere perfectly capture Bergen’s rich trading history.

The area is beautifully preserved, yet lively with charming shops, local artisans, cozy cafés, and galleries. It’s a place where history meets modern Bergen in a vibrant, authentic way. Bryggen Hansa Quater is on the UNESCO list for World Cultural Heritage sites since 1979. It is a well mainted colour full wooden architecture. The Hanseatic League established these Bryggen. In 1702 the Bryggen building were damage by fire . They were rebuilt and some of these were later demolished and some were destroyed by fire . In 1754 these properties were transfer to Norwegian citizen. Bryggen illustrate the use of space in a quater of Hanseatic merchants that dates back to the 14th century. Today Bryggen houses Museum which was built in 1976 on part of the site cleared by the fire,Shops,resturants and pubs.No ticket is needed to enter...
