Gui Lin Restaurant — Restaurant in Molde

Last time I have been at this place was in 2010 and there was another owner. I never came back, but a new owner and a new chance. It was a mistake.

I had Won Ton. Those were more cremated than fried. 4 small pieces for 99 kroner. On the menue it says nothing about shellfish inside (I hate shellfish), but when asked it was both pork and shrimps... people with allergies beware!

After that I waited for my Duck Szechuan (Hot). On positive thing - you get a loooot of rice and the portions are big. But then it ends. It tasted like those plastic bags with chemical sauce you buy at the local supermarked. Not good at all. An the "hot" means Norwegian hot (which is hot like mayo... not at all). Looked up how the sauce should be for Szechuan sauce - sounds very tasty... but not here. And you go for a duck hunt under the vegetables.

Mots of the vegetables tasted like Eldorado frozen Wok mix. Som carrots, onions and bell peppers were fresh though.

In my rating I exclude a server that did not understand enough Norwegian or English. Questions about allergies, asking for chopsticks, ordering another dish... not a good idea The owner(?) was Ok. For working in the service industry one should at least manage English to a degree that makes it possible to order things on your own menue.

Unfortunately, there might go 15 more years before I try again. Food in a restaurant should make you feel good and want to come back. There are other options in Molde...

Very good casual resturant. Pretty affordable and absolutely huge portions, i always have left overs to take home after eating here, and everything I've tried is very good. My favorite is the deepfried chicken with sour and sweet sauce. The atmosphere is usually a little tense, as the lighting is pretty dark, it's not usually very busy so its pretty quiet and u can't help but hear everyones conversations (i was once stuck stuffing food into my face as fast as i could while listening to a couple breaking up), and the decor is pretty spars, but even the weird vibes are nostalgic to me at this point. We came here because we wanted Asian food but worst choice ever. Came here with a person who spoke Chinese but got scammed on the portion of food and amount. The crab was trash, looked like it came from the garbage and with tiny portions. Would just go to another place.
