Petit Paris The name gave me high expectations. We love Paris and we’re very curious about the food and the feel (very important!). The expectations came through completely. It actually felt like we were on a terrace in Paris. Only the waiter spoke perfectly English and was very friendly and helpful. More and more we experience that in Paris too, but waiters can be rude in Paris. Not at Brasserie France in Oslo. Waiter and waitress are very very forthcoming and polite. I love restaurants with this modus operandi. Old fashion, but this will become modern. The coffeebar-order-and-payand-wait-and-get-it-yourself needs to be banned out of this world. And it will. It’s irritating. The menu at Brasserie France is French (no surprise there), the look and feel are French as well. We were really pleased with the croque monsieur and madam that tasted exactly the same as in Paris (or anywhere in France for that matter), so it felt double like a holiday. The quality was excellent, especially the fries were the best. Our new favorite place in Oslo. I recommend this brasserie.

Classic French food in a nice part of Oslo. We had a 3 course with a cured meat platter, duck for main, and crème brûlée for dessert. The food was well prepared and presented, but perhaps a bit rich for me (not a problem if you have a big appetite!). The noise level wasn’t great. We were on the second floor and it was difficult to speak with the person across the table without shouting. Servers were efficient and friendly. It’s a nice restaurant for a more formal dinner, though is probably pick a more quiet time of the day if I came back.

Very nice interior, heritage building, nice ambiance as well as waitress are very professional and charming. List of wine is good but not excellent. Food is abit below my expectation. Escargot was served with mushroom but it lost the freshness in execution. Rib eye supposed to be served rare but it was medium. Since the beef is less marble then it was chewy and unpleasant to bite. Give room for an improvement and i believe you will get more good tone in your food. The rest are already good and you will excel more when the is executed well.

Used celebrate my birthday here but the other night, Brasserie France failed me and I felt sad about it because I always get excellent experience with them. Been celebrating here for 6 consecutive years, I guess the new girl with light-colored hair needs more training. I was overly excited and ordered the wrong item from the dessert chariot and she already got annoyed. She even looked at me as if I was stupid. The lady (black long hair in a black dress-type uniform) escorting the customers to the table was rude, too. She got annoyed and just left our table when I couldn’t decide yet what to drink, since she asked me the moment I sat and I haven’t even had the chance to check the menu. What would she expect?! She never came back to check on us, and always stared at me in a rude way. For symure she wanted to show how annoyed she was. The night got saved by the Chilean waiter who was very accommodating. What is happening, Brasserie France? You...

Hands down our best meal in Oslo and we were very glad we made a reservation here. The atmosphere is very pleasant and true to what you can expect in a French brasserie. Staff were attentive and assisted us with our menu and wine selections in English. The food absolutely is the star of the show here. We ordered the Bouillabaisse and it was spectacular. Fresh seafood cooked and plated to perfection. Not to be forgotten were the dessert and cheese carts after dinner. Save some room as they are not to be missed. There is also a great selection of wine and cocktails. We had a beautiful evening here and when we return to Oslo it will definitely be a...
