As a new 100% plant based diet consumer I really wanted this place to be good so that I could eat out once in awhile and have more than salad. Service friendly. Food very disappointing. There is no real flavor and the food taste like something you would get in a senior living facility. I have eaten here twice ( two times just in case) and each time I have been extremely disappointed. I had the Chickpea and Curry, tasted the squash spinach red curry (it was red water) and french fries and second trip I had the Lasagna. YUCK! The house wine was good (hence the **). The lasagna looks promising but it is mushy and tasteless. And I had to send it back because they reheated too long so the cheese on top was like plastic and the rest dried out. Lasagna is not complicated but this was made little to no effort other than the assembling the most minimal ingredient resulting in mushy YUCK! There were a lot tables with lasagna still left uneaten, so I was not alone. The Chickpea curry was meh, it was only chickpeas and brown rice and the curry was so diluted that it tasted like watery cumin broth, there could have been string beans, spinach, sweet potatoes, potatoes, broccoli, kale, tomatoes. I get that it is half cafeteria style and half cafe. But I really wished that the best things on the menus were not the things that I can get anywhere (fries and vegan burgers) and that the food was at least as good as what I can make at...
Read morePretentious food. That’s what the name should be. The place matches Grünerløkka pretentious demography as well. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I got the avocado toast I had ordered (depicted in this review), which I thought would be a delicatessen this place pretentiously promises, and it turned out to be a sad slice of bread spread with guacamole, with tomato, some kind of grass and balsamic on the top. The price? kr. 140, - For a slice of bread? Oh yes! This is a MAJOR scam from a pretentious veggies cafe/restaurant/hipster cave.
Service: overwhelmed. I overheard a customer complaining about the long waiting time to get a cookie, while her coffee got cold. Atmosphere: Løkka-pretentious style. (Løkka isn’t what it used to be,...
Read moreThis place is awesome! Super nice decor.. reasonably priced (for Oslo/Norway.. sorry tourists!).. friendly staff and most importantly yummy vegetarian food with a bunch of options.. great for lunch or dinner. We are (very!) local so have already been a bunch of times and as a vegetarian I’m perhaps biased but it is so good to see a veggie restaurant with loads of options and cooked well.. the staff are all new (the place only opened a month ago!) so they’re definitely some teething troubles of learning process etc that all new restaurants go through but I am confident and pumped for Cultivates future.. if you’re in the area you definitely should...
