I was honestly surprised by how warm and creatively decorated this place was—it immediately transported me to the kind of Asian beachside restaurants I love. I was also a bit puzzled why there weren’t more photos of the interior online, so here I am, adding some! The place gives off an instant good impression, with massive real crystals on the walls and all around. Of course, I had to touch them. Felt supercharged. Had such talkative conversation with friends that healed me. The whole decor, with Indian ornaments and statues, made it feel like a mini museum. The artwork on the walls was creatively done, adding to the immersive experience. And the music? Chill and vibey—gave me a peaceful, tranquil feeling that reminded me of Asia. But not, but it was Asian French ish.
Now, onto the food! We ordered chicken teriyaki, karahi, hariyali chicken tikka, and mango lassis.
The karahi had that perfect grilled-before-simmered taste, which automatically scored major points with me. I order karahi at most Indian restaurants in Oslo, and I have to say, this was better than many others in the city. I asked for medium spice, but it was more like a “Norwegian medium.” If you want the real deal, ask for mega spicy.
The hariyali—grilled chicken and veggies—was great, but I do think it should automatically come with a sauce included in the menu price. I didn’t realize it came without one until the waiter asked if I wanted sauce, and then it turned out to cost extra. Would be nice if they mentioned that or if it was stated on the menu (with a picture, please—I love visuals).
The service? Absolutely lovely. The waiters were super friendly, always smiling, and really good at checking in on guests without being overbearing.
All in all, a place that surprised me in the best way possible. Will definitely be back, and this time, I’m going mega spicy!
Namaste, yo!

Read moreCurry & Ketchup at Majorstuen has become a personal favourite over the years, and for good reason. The food is consistently delicious, the service is warm and attentive, and the atmosphere is cozy and unfussy—just the way you want it when you’re in the mood for comfort food done right.
I keep coming back especially for their masala dosa and chai—an unbeatable combination. The dosa is always perfectly crisp, the filling well-spiced, and the accompaniments like sambar and chutneys are spot on. The tea is rich, flavourful, and instantly soothing.
While I often go for the South Indian fare, their menu is wonderfully varied. They serve a wide range of Indian dishes, including Indo-Asian fusion favourites like Indian-style Chinese noodles and fried rice. You’ll also find Indian street food classics like pav bhaji, momos, chicken 65, and more. It’s a great place to bring friends because there’s something for everyone, whether you’re craving something spicy, tangy, or comforting.
The staff deserve a special mention—they’re polite, quick, and make you feel genuinely welcome every time.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for authentic flavours, a diverse menu, and a relaxed dining...
Read moreAfter a tiring day in Oslo, we found this restaurant and chose it based on its high reviews. However, our excitement was short-lived. The restaurant was fully packed, and since we didn't have reservations, we had to wait. The crowd and enticing aromas initially raised our hopes.
We ordered Chettinad paneer, chicken biryani, naan, and Kori Kempu chicken fry starter. Unfortunately, every dish was a letdown.
Naan: Extremely thick and lacked fluffiness. Chettinad paneer: The curry base was undercooked, tasted bitter from overpowering coriander seeds, and was pretty raw. Biryani: Severely lacked flavor and basic seasoning.
The service was also subpar. The staff were scarce, making it hard to get their attention to order or request basic things like salt or water. They seemed rushed, and hygiene was clearly not a priority – we witnessed staff cleaning tables without gloves and then serving food.
While it's understandable to adjust dishes to local tastes, serving subpar food is unacceptable. This experience was disappointing, and I wouldn't recommend or...
