Ronny Wilhelm, the duty manager, insulted and said: You are not the right person for that old man. How old are you? (The conversation was completed recorded by my mobile phone) THAT OLD MAN? HOW OLD AM I? The handicapped person, my spouse Dr. Plank, unfortunately got a stroke during our 90 days driving trip in Northern Europe. It just happened 10 days before we came to Oslo. It was the most difficult time since he lost his vision and the sense of direction. When I helped Dr. Plank to the car this nasty duty manager was merely standing away watching us and laughing at us!
FACT: As attached photo, we booked with Special requests: "One senior from the US has vision problem recently so PLEASE DO reserve the accessible bathroom. Thank you very much!" and marked the Accessibility requests "Accessible bathroom." At the check-in front desk on Monday July 24 afternoon around 5 o'clock, I asked to make sure the room was accessible bathroom. However, a young man said that they did not receive any notes on my booking and they actually did not have such kind of room. I showed my booking with option and note on my phone. He repeated that there was no request/note in my booking and insisted that there was something wrong since they did not have such kind of room. So we got a room with a tiny bathroom, only 1x1 meter shower space. Second day in the morning, after a long time of help on the handicapped person, Dr Plank, for a shower, I took him on the wheelchair to the elevator. A lady standing by the room 204 said why we did not take that kind of room. She let me in to have a look and then I realized that they IN FACT had accessible bathroom. With full of anger we went to the lobby and frustratingly asked: YOU DO HAVE THE ACCESSIBLE BATHROOM WHY YOU TOLD ME THERE WAS NO SUCH KIND OF ROOM YESTERDAY. No response. I became very mad and screamed in the lobby: LOOK AT THE PERSON ON THE WHEELCHAIR! The duty manager showed up and immediately changed to 201 which is ALSO accessible bathroom. IMMEDIATELY, AND THERE ARE IN FACT TWO ACCESSIBLE ROOMS!
BEHAVIOR OF THE DUTY MANAGER: I asked why we were told no accessible bathroom the duty manager asked me to stay away or he would call police! CALL POLICE? According to the reviews at TripAdvisor in the past 6 months this hotel called police for their service problem 3 times. The duty manager was just nasty. He asked me to shut up. He kept saying he would call police if I continued to speak. In the reviews there were also some other people mentioned same behavior from this childish duty manager. He even insulted and said: You are not the right person for that old man. How old are you? (The conversation was completed recorded by my mobile phone) THAT OLD MAN? HOW OLD AM I? Again, I am not the right person for that old man? YOU duty manager is not in the right position to make such comment and you are in fact not the right person as a duty manager We have obtained lots of help from many people but the 2 days trip in Oslo was completed ruined by this hotel's ugly and dishonest service.
Mr Ronny Wilhelm, you and your staff have showed NO respect to handicapped person. It is your upbringing education problem. Your lies indicated your unprofessional behavior. Your insults on the handicapped person is definitely NOT acceptable.
You are not qualified on the position. Watch your job!
The picture illustrates that the apartment elevator does NOT work for wheelchair and you pay NO attention on the handicapped person...
Read moregreetings,||recently spent four nights at the saga apartments as part of our vacation in Norway.||we were pleasantly surprised and enjoyed this apartment throughout our stay at a reasonable cost (mind you... everything is expensive in Norway).||we got an apartment on the 7th floor with a private balcony and great views of the city towards the fjord.||yes you have to pick up the key from the saga hotel (5 minutes walk ) which was not an issue at all and it was very clearly stated when we made reservation - i don't understand why some people complains about this to be honest...||the location is excellent. it is one block away from a major commercial street with restaurants, shops, etc.. (and the tramway stops). while the apartment building itself is in a residential neighbourhood so no street noise , no issues for a good night of sleep - so for us it was perfect. and it felt perfectly safe.||some people complains that it is 'far' from main attractions - i personally disagree - you can walk to the palace and main park in 10 minutes for example and if you need to go to let's say munch museum or city hall it's either a 30 minutes walk or a 10 minutes tramway ride - so no issue at all in my opinion.||- the tramway system is super simple to navigate, clean and efficient and on-time. get yourself an OSLO pass and you get unlimited use of the transit system within the city.||the apartment is small (for north american standard..) but totally optimised for space saving and everything was working fine (even had a small dishwasher).||the bed was very comfy and we had good sleep quality throughout our stay - no issues with noise either from other guests or other adjacent apartments.||we did not experience any issues with the water pressure or hot water supply during our stay (saw some comments on that from other reviews).||there is no A/C system - so i don't know if this could be an issue during the summer months - but please note that you can open windows that are oriented towards the fjord so you get some air flow from there.||the kitchen has the basic stuff and a nespresso machine - you can ask for additional pods at the main hotel reception when you run out of coffee. we used the kitchen for our breakfast and we always picked-up food from nearby restaurants, sushi, etc.. and had our dinner at the apartment - after long days walking and exploring the city that was perfect for us to unwind.||Wifi worked fine - no issued there.||there is a TV - but almost all the channels are in Norwegian - was funny to watch the news before going to bed in the evening.||Oslo is a great city - under the radar compared to other European capitals - and still not contaminated with the over-tourism plague that affects a lot of other main European capitals - definitely a great place to visit and a great experience overall.||would go back to saga apartments to enjoy it anytime.||Thanks|||PS: Go to the city hall and visit the inside - it is spectacular and free. |the museums on bygdoi peninsula are a must as is the munch museum (even if you are not a fan of munch paintings) - the building itself is...
Read moreWe checked in at 10pm and upon getting in the room they gave us, we realized there were people sleeping in there! We called them and we were asked to go back to the reception (500m away) to pick up different key cards. Then, they realized they were overbooked and gave us a "free upgrade" on the 7th floor after mentioning that the elevator is "unfortunately" out of service. Not to mention that we were carrying multiple heavy luggage, and one of us has had a knee surgery recently and should not be going up and down so many stairs. We explained that that was unacceptable, especially when the elevator had been out of service for days before our arrival (after chatting with other guests) and they had not bothered informing us so that we could have picked a different hotel. Their response to that was that WE should have called and asked if the elevator is working. They definitely need some extensive hospitality education. At that time we could not find any other hotel nearby with available rooms, so we had to accept the room. They did not offer to reimburse us in any way. The next day, after we returned to the hotel in the afternoon, we asked if the elevator had been fixed. They informed us that it was not fixed, and after a lot of back and forth with a rude receptionist, we called Booking and canceled the rest of our reservation.
Other than that, the room was quite dirty, it was smelling bad because of high humidity and the beds were far from comfortable. We also had to make the 3rd bed on our own, even if it was part of our reservation.
Of course a transaction dispute has been filed with our bank against the hotel. We have travelled a lot, and this is by far the worst hotel we...
