This hostel is very hotel like and very clean. I was very pleased with my stay for a week and a half or so as I used it as a hub for traveling through the scandanavian countries. Yesterday my flight arrived late from Iceland and I unfortunately missed my train to stockholm. The next would leave very early in the morning, so early that there was no point of getting an expensive room. On several occassions this has happened to me and the hostels ive stayed in have allowed me to hang in the lobby for a bit to wait for my flight or train. I thought since I had just spent a week and a half at this hostel that maybe they would give me the safety and comfort I need to wait for my train. When i went to the hostel i was told that this was not allowed and I would need to get a bed. I was given a price of 300 kronas and decided to think about it for a bit. I left to eat dinner and returned to the hostel since it was cold out. This time another person was working at the counter. I informed him of the situation and he was not able to accomodate me either and now the price was 475 kronas for the same bed. He would not come down to what i was told. Whatever, i paid for the bed. When i stayed the week before i noticed prostitutes would come in and hang in the lobby. I didnt think anything of it. Now when I came back down to the lobby once again they were their hanging out. Now maybe im wrong but I cant stay a couple hours hanging out in the lobby after spending a week and a half there but a bunch of prostitutes can. I have nothing against it but their reason for not allowing it was for safety reasons and I know that prostitution doesnt bring in the safest people. Very disappointed...

The hotel is an a great area of Oslo and has nice intimate atmosphere. The staff is helpful, the breakfast was ok.

My biggest disappointed was the room: given I stayed 11 nights in attic room, half of the room completely unusable, roof cutting in a diagonal the room. There was literally no storage space in the little wardrobe for more than 2 nights, the bed mattress was way too soft and gave me back pain. And on top of this being the room, it was located next to some storage room where the staff were taking and putting back things every morning making the most terrible noise that of course got directly into the room and was the most unpleasant. I wouldn’t even give that room out, even more so for someone that booked 11 nights. So, while it has a charming look and service is ok, I slept poorly and felt trapped in that little uncomfortable room. Also, shower could use some refurbishing, while clean, the doors were not well functioning, though manageable.

This was a business trip and by far the most uncomfortable room/hotel I...

I absolutely loved this Hotel. The hotel is decorated nicely, a very comfortable and inviting feel when you walk in. Friendly front desk staff. The restaurant was great; the breakfast was amazing! It had a really great selection of food. Lots of vegetarian options too. Dinner was great. The chef did an excellent job of making me feel welcomed. I was only one in there; so I had an excellent chefs choice meal. Great friendly service. The room was clean and comfy. The bed was super comfy, I had trouble getting up the next day. It's a really quiet hotel. Amazing shower! I would definitely recommend this Hotel. I would stay here any and every time I'm in Oslo. It's close enough to walk around and sight see.

Stayed there for 1 night and can really recommend this hotel. It’s in a nice and quiet area and close to both bus and tram services, also walked to the central train station Oslo S from the hotel which takes you through the Royal Palace gardens/castle area. The beds are sooo comfy, the rooms with the high ceiling’s where really 10/10. Breakfast was more than good enough. Both check-in and check-out process was smooth, the staff really know how to make their guests feel welcome with a friendly smile, (heads up to the trainee girl who gave great info regarding getting around Oslo, so helpful and friendly) Would definatley book here again.

Great hotel located in a really nice and quiet area in Oslo. Only 15minutes walk from the city center. Really friendly staff and spacious rooms that were designed well and clean. Small but good breakfast, it has everything you need to start off your day, but it is smaller than on the bigger hotels. But I was happy with the selection they had and as a bonus I’ve probably never had better coffee at a hotel before. I recommend Hotel Saga for both business and pleasure.
