First time going here and this happened:
We were celebrating a birthday and ended up coming here to have a good time and finish off the night. We enter the building, I get a drink, we go upstairs, always hugging the wall because of the amount of people in the bar. And whilst standing and waiting for some friends of ours who were on their way, a bartender picked out my boyfriend, and a security guy just three him out. When we asked for a reason we were told, because the bartender pointed him out? He was literally not doing anything other than trying not to be in other people’s way. He hadn’t had anything to drink and he hadn’t been drinking much at all, for the entire evening.
It’s just straight up wrong and unfair. We were not given a reason, we payed for entry only to be thrown out 15 minutes later. And of course the last part goes for the entire party cause we’re not gonna stand by as a friend gets thrown out. Bartender was wrong for pointinf him out. Security was wrong for not actually talking to him and making an opinion themselves before throwing him out.
Just abuse of power. Never coming back again, and wouldn’t recommend it to...
Read moreI made a reservation for my parents 40-year wedding day the 15th 11.19 at Old Irish Pub Majorstua. At the entrance my parents were not allowed to enter the place because my mother looked “tired” - according to the bouncer. The man claimed that my mother has consumed too much alcohol and should find another to go. My mother answered that she does not consume any alcohol at all, she has cancer diagnosis and is not a person who drinks. The bouncer required written proof that she has cancer! The manager “Cecilie” suddenly came out and started shouting that my mother could not enter. They left disappointed and humiliated from the place. It is not only humiliating for my parents who wanted to celebrate their 40-year wedding day, but also its unbelievable that this is allowed to happen. I hope this review is red by guests and the management at Old Irish Pub, because I don’t believe someone will consider such treatment as acceptable...

Must have been like 3% , so why? And upstairs was packed with people, but no bar open!? Seems like a very strange way to conduct business. And why no food? Surely a great way to make extra cash, plus make people stay longer, plus get people to buy more drinks, and ultimately have more happy customers. The Irish pub model is not really adopted here, ...
