I had really been looking forward to visiting this place but it turned out to be a big disappointment. We chose a la carte, but the menu is so small so you have to order the same dish several times to get full. Also the portions are really small. So you end up paying a lot. The taste is ok, but nothing spectacular. The worst was the service. We had a drunk couple sitting next to us and the guy was screaming, FaceTiming and was being obnoxious. Clearly all the guests were bothered by them. I kindly asked the head waitress if she could tell them to be quiet, but she responded that we had to move if we had a problem with it. I was surprised by the aggressive response but we decided to move. When we moved a family at another table told me that they were really bothered as well. So we got to the new table I told the head waitress that other people were bothered by the drunk couple as well. Then she responded that “I had to calm down”. I think I’ve never experienced a service that bad anywhere. Not only was the waitress very unprofessional, but she was also very aggressive. It is also illegal by Norwegian law to serve alcohol to people that are overly drunk. My wife and I were quite upset after this so we paid the bill and left.
There are so many other restaurants in Oslo that are way better than this one for the same...
Read moreWe were four people here around a month ago (sept 2019), and we all had the set menu, but chose beverage ourselves. We all felt the staff were a little bit rude, with an attitude like we were supposed to be very fortunate to be able to dine there - despite the place not even being full. The concept is Asian fusion. We are used to quality gourmet restaurants, both internationally and domestic, (Stattholdergaarden, A'Laise in Oslo etc.), and were not really all that impressed. The food was good enough, but nothing extraordinary. Small portions, which is okay if you have 15 courses, but we weren't full when we left. Our waitress had little knowledge of wine, and when she managed to spill on one of us while serving food, she just acted casual and said "I'll fix that, I just have to finish serving you your plates". All in all, if you eat here you will have good food at not mind-blowing prices, but the prices still don't justify the quality or quantity, and the restaurant isn't impressive enough to warrant the hipster attitude we experienced from several of the...
Read moreGood things first: great visuals and creative ideas. The beetroot covered duck was beautifully made. Both desserts were well balanced fusion of tastes on their own, AND complemented each other really well. Perfect execution.
Not so good things: My portion of fried enoki didn't work at all. The mushrooms were not separated before putting together into the fryer. It became impossible to eat when trying to take a reasonable size bite. The smaller parts just fell into pieces. The mayo was too heavy as a dip.
The taste profiles of the 1st and 2nd dishes (pork crackling, fried enoki) were too similar.
The noodle soup was over seasoned and salty.
Last but not the least, please fix the ventilation. Nobody wants to smell like fried food after sitting in the restaurant...
