I just came back from my fourth and final visit here I think. I used to be a big fan of this place, with its laid-back atmosphere and scrumptious dishes served in generous portions. The service was top-notch too - the staff were knowledgeable, friendly, and happy to spend time recommending dishes and drinks.
But it seems all good things must come to an end. On my most recent visit, I found that the portions had shrunk while the prices had grown, like some sort of reverse-economy magic trick. The food was still good, but not quite up to its previous standards (I think at least). And as for the service... Our waiter seemed to be in a race to get us in and out as quickly as possible, with little support or guidance when it came to making our choices. The waiter kept swooping in to clear plates and cutlery before we were even finished eating. It was like trying to dine with a hungry tornado (a bit of an exaggeration perhaps).
To also give some creds, the wine selection is still great and the atmosphere too. Maybe this was just a one-off bad experience, but with so many other great restaurants in the city, I don't think I'll be giving this one...
Read moreWas my first time in the well recommended place and wasn’t really impressed… The place looks really nice though with a comfy interior and nice design details. A French bistrot in a way. Waiters were kind and attentive until the place got too busy and they had to rely on their food runner to finish the job. Too bad, she barely had time to tell us about the cheese platter we ordered and seemed a little stressed. No worries it happens! But common 400kr for tiny mains barely served warm enough that’s a joke. At best 100g of meat/fish with nearly any garnish… that’s a rip off!! 200kr for 3 miserable pieces of cheese served with way too many crackers… At least they’re making good money it seems!? They should hire an extra waiter or 2 to be a little more attentive throughout the visit. Not impressed really. Too bad cause they have an amazing wine selection and good wines by the glass. But the bill was too salty for...
Read moreNot sure why such high reviews for this place. the food is bland, the menu is all over the place with no recurring theme or cuisine. and most importantly, the prices dont match what you’re eating. A lot of show for appearances, hipster menu with Biggie at the bottom, inside it looks like a NYC keith mcnelly restaurant. It is visually quite appealing. However, the food lacks a lot. The service is hit or miss, depending who you get. Some waiters are nicer than others. Honestly this place was sooo hyped to me and expectations were so high, while you can actually get cheaper better food at Olivia Hedgehausveien. (Yep, i am comparing you to a chain, thats how bad the food is). Wont...
