The Cakery — Restaurant in Oslo

I had an extremely disappointing experience with this store. I placed an order for a cake for my wife’s birthday, and the order went through successfully, with payment completed. However, when I tried to contact the store—calling over 10 times—no one answered. When I finally went to the location, there was a note saying they had taken the day off.

There was no mention of this closure on their website or Google listing, and yet they were still accepting orders and payments. This caused a lot of stress on an important day for me and my family. Very unprofessional and unacceptable.

When I placed the order online, there was no indication that the order required confirmation before being processed, nor was there any warning about limited availability. The system accepted the payment and showed the order as successful, even though your website asked me to enter delivery address details. So, why should I pick up the order? All this gave me the impression that everything was confirmed.

I did not receive any email from your side about unavailability or a need to specify a pickup time, otherwise, I would have made alternative arrangements. Also, if the store was closed for vacation, this should have been clearly communicated on your website or during the ordering process. Or at least pick up the phone call if you have...

We could not have been more pleased with the cake we ordered for our wedding. Gabriela and the team worked wonders! They responded to our request with recommendations, were clear about what was or was not possible, and worked with us to refine details of design and sizing. They were even able to get the decorative florals I desired (which seemed miraculous considering the event florist was unable to)! All at a reasonable price.

The result was simply beautiful. It was exactly what we discussed yet somehow more wonderful. We ordered the carrot cake for 80 guests. It tasted incredible, the best I’ve had, and our guests loved it too.

I tried to order in Norwegian as I think thats polite since I'm a guest in that country.

The guy at front desk just reacted irritated and unfriendly with "huh?!" and "What". Like I'm some kind of retard mubling sth. He just pointed out where the menu is, where to pay and where to tip. He seemed desinterested and unmotivated to do his job.

I felt unwelcomed from the beginning.

I ordered my food and waited a long time till my food came.

The coffee was slightly cold and didnt taste good.

The omlette was served without any side dishes or bread and I felt the price was not justified.

I can recommend the cheese cake, that was delicious.

The atmosphere was not so good and the place is not as cosy as described in the video or...
