This is coming from Indians. We had been to so many Indian restaurants across Europe. But finding a decent authentic one hs been always a challenge for us. We did find some and ‘Mehfel Restaurant’ tops of all those! What awesome original food! Spice levels are tailored to perfection. They ask you spice levels from 1-5 so you can choose your own capacity. The staff is so sweetly soft spoken evoking India’s beautiful ‘Athithi Devo Bhava’ philosophy! Their youg serving staff too are so well-mannered, helpful and smiley. We had ordered ‘Mixed Grill’ as starters and the marination and grilling was just perfect. You usually see most so called ‘Indian’ restaurants using peculiar artificial colorings and weird taste to their grilled meat and make it look horrible. Here these people just do it the way it is supposed to be done. Then the Garlic Bhuna Lamb was a delight. Nans seemed like properly made in an actual Tandoor and were super fresh. We also had ordered Lamb Biriyani which was again perfect for us with nice mild Boondi Raitha. Then the dessert was ‘Kesar Kulfi’, India’s own traditional ice cream and it was so rich and delicious! I recommend the restaurant not to use that artificial whipped cream on top of our sacred Kulfi onstead place some pistache nut pieces as garnish 🙂 I highly recommend this restaurant to our fellow Indians and all those across the world seeking real authentic Indian Cuisine. Don’t fall to fake restaurants run by people who have no clue on sophistication of Indian spices, blending and balance.

Mehfel offers a delicious Indian dining experience, with a special shoutout to their heat! Unlike some places that cater to "Norwegian spicy," Mehfel lets you crank it up to a level that's higher, though they will warm you when you order. I enjoyed the lamb vindaloo and will gladly recommend it. The menu offers some interesting twists as well, like the gulab jamun served with whipped cream and ice cream. While this might surprise traditionalists, I'm not a purist and I appreciate the fusion dessert. The staff are incredibly attentive and friendly, making you feel welcome and valued throughout your visit, always wearing a smile.

Looking for an Indian restaurant we came across this place. At first we dismissed it but fate must have it that we had to come here. And am I glad we did. The food was absolutely amazing. Being of Indian origin we like our flavours and spice. Thinking we’d want it ready spicy we were advised that level three is Indian spicy so we took the advice and were not disappointed. Go here for good quality and fair priced Indian food with good flavours. The staff are attentive. The bathroom is large and very clean. Outside seating available to those who like to go Al fresco.

We were three, on a Sunday night, coming from the Opera house. The restaurant is at easy walking distance from the Opera house in Oslo, an ideal place for an after-opera-dinner. There was a big family party going on, but we had a table at the opposite end of the restaurant and enjoyed quietness as you rarely find it in a restaurant in Oslo. Tables were laid beautifully, service was quick and very polite. We enjoyed the food - the menu offers quite a variation of dishes, including meat, fish, and vegetarian. We tried Pakistani beer and Italian wine. By the end of the evening, we all were very pleased with our dinner and decided to come again. Highly recommended for atmosphere, service, food, and...
