Raus Bar — Restaurant in Trondheim

Me and my girlfriend were trying to find a good place for drinks, albeit a bit early in the evening. The entrance is more like that of a restaurant and I immediately thought the place to be pretentious. We were the only ones there, it's a cocktail bar, and we have to wait to get seated. We stood outside of the "please wait to be seated" sign for only a brief moment before a waitress escorted us to a table. We were practically the only guests but the waitress filled the room with enthusiasm. I'm a sucker for knowledge I really don't need so when she began the saga of how they make the Claro Colada I was sold. And soon enough the whole place were packed and our wallets were empty. We ended up trying almost every drink on the menu with the Claro Colada being a favorite for both of us. Rounded off the evening with a 10 year Sazerac and a smile. I’m sure they have fine cocktails but we didn’t get to try them. Me, my husband, restaurant and bar owners in the US, and our 8 month old daughter (who was sleeping!) went to raus bar at 7 PM last Tuesday, and it was totally empty. The bartender greeted us nicely. We sat down and looked over the menu for about 10 minutes. Then, a blonde girl approached us and abruptly and rudely told us we needed to leave because it was against the law to bring babies to bars in Norway. She said our daughter was welcome to come back in 20 years. We have been 5 or 6 similar places since and they warmly welcomed us and have been happy to see our daughter there. Bartender took an order of drinks from us roughly 30 minutes before our table reservation was up. We received the drinks 10 minutes before we had to leave. We were only half way through our drinks by the time waitress told us we had to get going. We asked nicely if we please could finish our drinks first, but the waitress got very rude at that point telling us our time was up. The waitress even started spraying our table with cleaning spray while we were still sitting there! Even though they were the ones to serve us a drink knowing our time was up in 10 minutes.
