It's one of the newest restaurants in the vicinity of Nizwa Fort. The place has amazing views to the Fort, and the rooftop sitting area is great, but that's probably the only good point about Tamrah. The place needs serious reconsideration on how to manage customers' orders and give efficient service if they intend to keep a name in the fine dining business.
First, there is a serious lack of considering the priority of order and serving in that regard. We ordered water for our table. In any average scale restaurant, that is served immediately. Here, we had to wait for 15 minutes, and after reminding them once, we got the water bottle. When it came with glasses, there was lemon residue in one glass, indicating either the glasses were not washed properly or negligence on the server's part.
Second, the food is excessively overpriced, and the quality of what you eat does not match the price you pay. The menu is very limited, and there are no Omani dishes. The restaurant is more like a fast food place in glorified clothes. The soups were bland, and the pastas were just average. Also, drinks were not that spectacular for the price, and they do not know that wide straws should be given with mojitos that have lemon and pomegranate seeds inside. The only good item on the table was the freshly baked bread. Also, something as simple as salt and pepper is missing on the table and should be asked, another indication that the management lacks principles in restaurant management and is more concerned with image. Adding to this, the bill comes incomplete, and they have to run back to add the items that they forgot.
Overall, in Nizwa, there are numerous restaurants that will serve you great quality food if your main concern is the quality of heat you eat. If you want to have some good photos with Fort background while eating something average and excessively overpriced, you may choose...
Read moreWe had a very nice dinner here. The restaurant has a beautiful view over the city. At night the view is spectacular with lights everywhere.
The ambiance is cozy, with traditional décor that immediately immerses you in Omani culture.
The menu is a culinary journey through the flavors of Oman, with each dish expertly prepared to perfection. From the aromatic spices to the fresh ingredients, every bite is a delight to the senses. The chicken breast with baby veggies was very good. Also the pasta was delicious .
Overall, Tamrah restaurant is a hidden gem in Nizwa, offering an unforgettable dining experience that celebrates the best of Omani cuisine. If you're looking for a taste of authentic Omani flavors in a cozy and inviting setting, look no further...
Read moreWhat a great delight it was to break the fast during Ramadan at Tamrah! The atmosphere was amazing, (especially the view) the menu they put together for everyone was exceptional and the staff running the whole restaurant was just incredible, especially Rea!!! I’m vegetarian and they were accommodating me throughout the whole night! Food was great! Just too much! ☺️…And although we were not able to put any more food in us and said “no” to dessert, they wrapped up some specialities and gave us a take home bag with all sorts of goodies to bring home! Wow! Incredible!
Side note: Tamrah is on the third floor! Don’t wait outside by the date shop! Just go to the...
