HN Foods – Not Worth It! The taste was below average, overpriced, and absolutely not worth it. This place is all hype, but the taste? Completely worthless.
We ordered their Kabuli Karahi, Chicken Shahi Kabab (which they claimed was their specialty), Chapli Kabab, garlic naan, and cold drinks. And honestly, I didn’t like anything.
Chapli Kabab – The Worst Ever The Chapli Kabab was the worst—completely tasteless. My friend literally said, "Curse those influencers and YouTubers who promote these trashy places that aren't even worth pennies!" And I couldn’t agree more. Believe me, I’ve had far better Chapli Kababs from a small roadside shop for just 50 rupees per piece. This was a bland, lifeless, and utterly uninspired excuse for a Chapli Kabab. If mediocrity had a taste, this would be it. And the worst part? We paid 800 just for that!
Mutton Kabuli Karahi – A Scam in Every Way Then there was the Mutton Kabuli Karahi—or at least, that’s what they called it. The portion was ridiculously small; we ordered half a kg, and they barely served 300g. Like, what the hell? First, they charge 5K per kg for a Karahi that tastes like trash, and then they serve a portion so tiny that only one person could eat it. It was just loaded with green chilies everywhere and had only a few small pieces of meat. It was a complete scam. We were disappointed from every side.
Shahi Kababs – Beyond Mediocre Now coming to their Shahi Kababs—honestly, I don’t even know what that taste was supposed to be. It was so bland, so forgettable, that my brain refused to process it. Like, if nothingness had a flavor, this would be it. I kept chewing, trying to figure out what they were going for, but I got nothing. And then I looked at the price—650 per piece! Paying that much for this flavorless disaster was straight-up robbery.
And to top it all off, our total bill was over 7K for just three people! Only come here if you have a lot of money to waste.
And just when I thought it couldn't get worse, they added an extra layer of disappointment—charging tax while handing me a fake receipt. No FBR POS slip, just a printed reminder of my regret.
I hate places like this that spend so much on PR and pay bloggers to promote absolute garbage. We had a terrible experience here. The only thing I liked was the ambiance, which was no doubt great. But when it comes to food? Trash. I will not recommend this place to anyone.
Mutton Kabuli Karahi – 3/10 Shahi Kabab – 2/10 (because I don’t even know what I ate) Chapli Kabab – 1/10
In the end, I walked away not just with an empty wallet but with a painful realization: some places don’t just serve bad food—they serve...
Read moreWent to try breakfast deal. Summary is that food is good but I would not like to go again because of extremely poor service and management, as well as atmosphere.
We reached there and asked for sitting outside. We were directed towards left side patio but just directed...no one went with us to seat us. Later we got to know patio was on right side and had space. Left side was overflow area used for transportation of items. Next, no one came to give menu cards or take order for 25 minutes. The patio got full but still no one. I went inside thrice asking for help and was each time told someone will come. But in vain. Fourth time, I made a noise inside and that's when finally management woke up and sent an order taker.
We wanted the 2500 Breakfast deal (see below). We chose Kaleji and Desi Murgh as options (other two were Nihari and Paya). But we were served Nihari instead of Kaleji. When asked, we were told they didn't have Kaleji ready even though it was 9.00 am i.e. 3 hours after opening. I asked what if I had wanted Paya then? They said they'll change but I decided to stick with Nihari. By the way, I had especially gone for Kaleji. Later, we had asked for two lassi and two teas as options. But were told they were out of tea. Out of tea! Seriously?
Food was good - definitely above average based on what we get in Lahore restaurants (not comparing to androon shahar though). I'll be honest about it. But the service experience is so bad that it ruins it all. One doesn't want to go again.
They were advertising a deal for Rs.2,000 but on the spot it was Rs. 2,500. No issues as it's more than 2500 worth but they should ensure they are giving what they are advertising.
These guys have paid a lot of food v-loggers to give a boost. And that's all. I hope they can improve their service and floor management so it can run well. Otherwise, once the hype is down, the restaurant might go down the drain, or run at less than optimum capacity.
Would like to go again only, and only after getting direct recommendations that service has improved....which is unlikely as I don't think the management understands the...
Read moreWe went to a restaurant today called HN Foods and honestly, it was a complete disaster.
The hype created on social media and all their marketing is just a big fat balloon... aur wo bhi bina hawa wala. Expectations high thi, but experience ne zameen dikhayi.
Staff was extremely unprofessional, aur atmosphere itna disturbing tha ke fine dining ka to door door tak koi scene nahi tha.
There was no electricity, ACs weren’t working, aur garmi mein roast hum ho rahe thay – not the food. The place was overcrowded, but not with customers. Inka apna staff, including waiters and even janitorial staff, was allowed in the dining area .
Now let’s talk about the food – yaani asli heartbreak.
We ordered their most hyped Ranjha Gosht, but jaise mere friend ne kaha after taking a bite: “Yeh Ranjha nahi, LANJHA Gosht hai.” No taste at all, meat quality was poor, and overall it felt like a waste of appetite.
The Seekh Kebab had no spices, were soggy (bilkul dheele), and clearly not freshly made. Then came the Mutton Keema Karahi, which was another disaster , no salt, no flavor, just disappointment. You can't tell if its qeema or what... We also tried the Afghani Mutton Karahi , aur wo bhi bilkul taste-less thi. Lagta tha naam sirf Afghani tha, asli mein to taste kisi aur duniya ka tha.
We asked for Mint Margarita, but they said “Bijli nahi hai sir, fresh lime le lein.”
We agreed… but what arrived was a glass of Sprite with a slice of lemon. Mujhe nahi pata tha ke Sprite ko kaanch ke glass mein dal ke upar se nimbu ka slice rakh do to wo fresh lime ban jata hai. Shukriya HN Foods for the enlightenment.
Lastly, we tried their Khizar Mutton Chops , as recommended by the waiter. Lekin yeh bhi total fail. The meat was NOT fresh , tasted like ek mahine purana qurbani ka gosht.
Prices were sky high, and in return we got zero value , neither in food nor experience. Honestly, in this price range, there are way better options available in the same area. Save your money guys and don't visit even...
