It was a bit of a strange experience which had the full potential to go completely downhill, but...
The interior of the restaurant is designed in a very spacious manner, with comfortable seating. Only 11 tables. There is no matre de counter at the entrance, so can be a bit confusing.
Menu has continental items, some pan Asian fare and then the whole desi stuff. We decided to go for desi and ordered patakha chicken karahi and Nihari. Turns out they didn't have Nihari. So we, instead, ordered tempura prawns as the appetizer.
After waiting 15 mins for the appetizer, the waiter came and said they don't have tempura prawns and instead would we like to order another appetizer. We were like, huh... if we order a new appetizer now then the main course will be even more delayed. And why didn't they tell us that tempura prawns are not available as soon as well ordered them. Why wait 15 mins for the bit of information?
Anyway, we told them to skip appetizer, and just bring the main course.
Patakha chicken karahi finally arrived, along with naan and roti, and man, what a dish it was. Bursting with flavors and a lot in quantity. While the chicken pieces were a bit odd, the overall dish was so good that we could see ourselves come back again just for that. The quantity was so much that even after the two of us finished eating, there was still some left to take home.
We asked them for dessert menu, and turns out they only had gulab jamun. They brought one order for us (3 pieces). They were served piping hot and were very satisfying. They mentioned that the gulab jamun are on the house (presumably due to appetizer snafu).
Anyway, the quality and taste of patakha chicken karahi totally saved the day, and made this a memorable experience. We will be back, Inshallah.
And the best part, after using a bank card for discount, the total bill for two people was...
Read more2024: Mouthful has been off my list after a poor experience awhile back. After a getting their marketing messages, I thought of checking it out again. Visited them for lunch and ordered their Butter chicken and Morrocon Fish. To my surprise they have really upped their game once again. The butter chicken was moist and soft as that's what butter is supposed to do. It oozed with butter and when mixed with their white sauce gave it a very buttery after taste also. Morrocon Fish was the usual in its sauce. Above all, their service was excellent. Since the time they had only 7 items on their menu, it has grown into a full fledge restaurant, but enroute to this, they lost their signature perfection, but now it seems to be coming back. Hope they can maintain it. 2019:
Mouthful sunday brunch has become like my 2nd home. There isnt much to write about it coz its all about experiencing it yourself. Although this time around the only negative point was the soup which only had chicken unlike before where it had both red and white meat. Otherwise limited number of dishes but each one better than the other. Meatball spaghetti was just perfect just like ur moms. Beer can chicken !!!!! 5 star! Parathas...5 star! Omelette was a bit stingy on cheese, puri channa, makai ke roti, u name it and everything was excellent. i have to add just one more thing, they had the best cold sandwiches i have ever had at any all u can eat buffets. Sweets were just as good as the food with bite sized gulab jamans and heavenly chocolate strawberry cake.
I would surely recommend this for people who prefer quality over...
Read moreHonestly I visited this place twice and I was more of less disappointed. I have given three stars for the wonderful decor and overall ambiance and for the staff being courteous and accommodating.
However the food was really subpar and mediocre for the high prices they charge. I tried the Tarragon chicken and the Chicken Parmigiana and the Stuffed chicken and fries.
The tarragon chicken was really average and lacked depth of flavour. I really wish they offered mashed potatoes with it instead of me having to order them separately (only to find a hair in the one I ordered which I promptly had changed) The chicken parmigiana was really lacklustre, didn’t enjoy the capsicum and tomato on top and the sauce on the spaghetti was undercooked and lacked flavour. Plus the breaded chicken itself was heavy/oily instead of light and crispy. The fries cost around 300ish but just like any other dipped dhabba fries you can get for quarter the price.
The only thing I enjoyed was their cheese stuffed chicken which was honestly pretty amazing so thumbs up on that 👍🏻 but overall I don’t think it’s worth...
