Gai'a Japanese Fusion — Restaurant in Zone 1

I've dined here at least several times since it opened, and other than one disappointing visit last September which I brought to their attention, everything here has been excellent, everytime. The ambience, the decor, and above all the food! The 'Kettle' soup is delicious, bursting with seafood flavours and is for those who have developed a palette for strong seafood flavours. It won't be for everyone! The Beef with 3 mushrooms is my go-to dish, and the Bonsai Maki (eel and tuna) was just amazing the last time I visted. Drinks are also great here. This is the only eating establishment in Islamabad that has never given me stomach issues, hence why I keep on returning, and hands-down my favourite place to dine since it opened. I have also visited the Kohsar market branch twice but found the food not up to the same standard. I'm still puzzled as to why there was a need to open two branches so close to one another, resulting in both venues being very quiet every day of the week as they are splitting the customer load. Makes no business sense at all. Service is the one area where I would like to see an improvement, as other than one or two long-standing waiters, the rest don't seem to be doing a great job. I've had to repeatedly ask for things, even when it's been so quiet that there are more staff than customers. Other than that, this is by far the best Japanese food I've come across...

One of the BEST eateries in Islamabad, hands down. I visited a while ago and I still can’t forget the taste! We got GAIA special sushi, three mushroom beef and another popular main from “land” in menu whose name I’ve forgotten but man oh man the flavors were spectacular! Everything tasted so rich, so full of layers. The ambiance is great for a fancy dine out with friends or a special date with a loved one. They also have separate seating areas for groups so you and your gang can have a nice private time. They also offered complimentary starter drinks in addition to the excellent service throughout our time spent. I loved this place! Everything that we tried tasted good and fresh, and left me feeling happy for the next few hours.

The service was also perfect added to the whole experience. They have great staff.

As soon as you’re seated, you’re given a complimentary drink, which tasted pretty good.

The salmon ceviche is honestly the best thing I’ve had all year! The sushi is really good and tastes really fresh and clean, and I particularly loved the rainbow maki, but the spicy tuna maki was also really good.
