El Brasero — Restaurant in Bella Vista

We first went there and everything was amazing. Soooo nice, that we came back a second time. Well, we should have left it with the first time and kept it in good memories... Second time we came, started off with not having water (something which is obvious in Panama, even in the shadiest places), so they offered bottled water. (Afterwards they charged us for it). Coke, which we wanted to order was out. Beer (Panama), you can guess it: out. We ordered our steaks, cause the one my girlfriend had the first time was marvelous. Well, it wasn't the second time. It was chewy as hell and worse than the far inferior meat quality I ordered. It didn't come with the fries we ordered, it came only with corn (which we ordered). So after we asked again for the fries it took like ten-fifteen minutes, which wouldn't have been that bad, because the steak wasn't edible anyhow. So when the fries finally came we could claim the steak. Until the steak came back the fries we're all gone/cold. The corn btw was horribly dry, we complained, but nothing was done. Of course the water as well as the corn were on the bill, the steak I MADE them take off. The owner, which we called in the meantime, got distracted by a friend of his (apparently his having the place merely to receive friends and other people -the first time he was having a date there with two girls half his age-) and didn't care. The service was fine, friendly and attentive. The place was very clean. The best food here I would say are the salads and perhaps the "angus" steaks that are NOT actually imported, but they are good. The lentil soup has ham and sausage- not shown on the menu. The ceviche was horrible and not fully done (if you want sushi, ask for the ceviche). The waiter asked me why I didn't finish my appetizers. When I said the ceviche was not fully done, I was told that ceviche is supposed to be raw or partially raw......

I had a really bad lunch. The chicken was dry and tasted in different parts like it was burnt. We ordered a pitcher of sangria that was horrible. Service was really slow. The starter, arepitas con nata was the only rescuable item that we tried. My wife left her plate almost untouched. We told the waiter about our experience and he couldn't care less.
