Stopped in early afternoon and was welcomed to a table in what appeared to be an almost empty place. Nice interior decor and appreciated the carafe of ice water provided. The menu provides background for the restaurant as well as their dry aging approach, very informative. Ordered the Rib Eye with the baked potato on the side, and shortly after ordering the waitress informed me it will take 20 minutes for the baked potato so I selected the side salad. The Rib Eye was overcooked for my taste, though I asked for medium, and really didn't have a lot of flavor. The shoestring onion rings were very tasty, best part! The side salad was unique and interesting, see picture. The Koeksister was doughy, glad for the ice cream. The upcharge for the baked potato was on my bill, which I pointed out to the server, but nothing was changed. Very unlikely...
Read moreOne of my favorite restaurants in Panama City. It's a small family ran (South African) restaurant where you feel "at home" as soon as you walk in. The servers speak English, not that I expect them to, but it makes it easier to get orders made quickly and accurately. The menu is diverse with some very tasty South African dishes and deserts. Prices are moderate and cheaper than other similar restaurants in the area. The owners always come out to great and make sure that you're happy with your meal. Overall...it's one of my favorite two restaurants in...
Read moreOrdered to go when I was visiting Panama and was not disappointed. The food was affordable AND tasty and I am tempted to get on a flight just to go back to this restaurant. The only downer was that I read in the reviews that the owners walk around and talk to the diners and they did in fact do that on the evening I was there, they however did not come over to my table which was a little disappointing as I wanted to share with them how I had found out about their restaurant but hopefully next time I'll get that...
