If you want to eat a decent meal: DO NOT EAT HERE!! What a tourist trap. The restaurant itself looks real Greek and cozy. But when it comes to the food: it was an expensive disappointment. I ordered moussaka. But after a while the waiter told me it took too much time to make it. I asked him what he could recommend. It was the corvina (fish) platter with lemon, oregano, French fries and roast potatoes OR grilled vegetables. My husband ordered a twenty US dollar gyros plate. What they served us: my whole fish turned out to be a fish filet, with a few slices of lemon on top and a fist full of French fries with some dried oregano on top. I must say that filet was fresh and tasted OK. But when one expects a whole fish, this filet can only be a disappointment. I asked where the grilled vegetables were. But suddenly the waiter did not understand me any longer. The gyros plate my husband got served, turned out to be a tiny pita bread, stuffed with French fries(!!) and one (1! ONE!) thin slice of meat and a slice of tomatoe. Wrapped in paper. I just couldn't believe it that they would charge us 20 dollar for that little, tasteless snack! But they did! I told the waiter that we were not at all satisfied about our meals. And explained that we did not get what the menu said. And that I even felt betrayed by giving us such a poor meal. But the bill was presented to us anyway. So I paid 52 dollars for a two lousy, really bad meals, a soda and a beer. I think Greek Tavern OPA should be very ashamed about the quality and quantity of their meals. One does not earn the name of being a Greek Tavern if one serves the plates they gave us. Shame on you OPA!...
Read moreA fun place with a variety of good Greek food. We ate there twice. There are a couple of tables across the street on the cobblestones outside the ruins. We sat there and enjoyed the atmosphere. Inside seating had good AC with plenty of seating.
The full menu wasn't available either night, with things not available on night 1 being available the next and vice verse. So be flexible and explore the menu. The horiatiki salad was perfectly sized to share.
Service was good. They accept Visa credit card and the pricing was fair. The restaurant is small, on a...
Read moreWe had a lovely dinner at this restaurant! We sat outside by the church ruins, which was such a unique setting. The server was so nice and helpful; he said he learned most of his English from Netflix and gave us a few recommendations for new shows :) The menu was only in Greek and Spanish (and we speak neither!), but this only made it seem even more like they don't cater only to English speaking tourists. Plus - the server was able to help when we had questions. The food was delicious and it was the perfect last dinner for our...
