We were excited to eat at Mistura because of all of the good reviews, but were very disappointed. Our experience indicated that this place is the classic tourist trap. We knew it was a tourist spot when we decided to eat there, but our other meals at tourist spots in Cusco (on the Plaza) were delicious and had proved to be worth the additional cost (and genuinely were not outrageously priced), but not Mistura.
Our overpriced cocktails had almost no alcohol and plenty of juice (former bartender here), the food was decent, but not worth the price we paid, and when I asked the server for a recommendation between two equal-priced options, they turned the page and insisted that I should have a dish that was double the price. When I explained that I did not want that dish and would like a recommendation between the two dishes I was considering, the server again turned the page and insisted that I should order the expensive dish that I did not want.
