Cebicheria La Cumbre — Restaurant in Lima Metropolitan Area

This little neighborhood cevicheria is off the beaten path in Miraflores but nestled in an area with hotels catering to foreign visitors. It is usually SRO during lunch time. They have a very friendly and welcoming staff. I went an hour before closing and ordered a “Picante de Mariscos”. “Picante de mariscos is a traditional Peruvian dish originating from the coastal regions. This spicy stir-fry is usually prepared with a combination of garlic, oil, potatoes, onions, white wine, hot chili peppers, cumin ,parsley, and seafood such as squid, mussels, clams, and shrimp.”

I selected this dish precisely because it was supposed to be spicy but it turned out to be quite bland and boring. It left me wishing I had ordered anything else. It’s disappointing because the place is usually well attended, seeming to indicate public favor. Maybe I was unlucky, but the “Picante de Mariscos” in this instance only rates a mediocre...

Good place for fresh and delicious seafood (aka “ceviche”). They have offer several options (cold dishes like “ceviche” or “tiradito”, or warm/hot dishes like “arroz con mariscos” or "tacu tacu de mariscos", and soups like “chupe de langostinos/camarones” or "parihuela"). They also offer options like individual or large dishes for sharing. Expect wait lines after 1 PM. Prices are bit above average than other similar...

There is absolutely nothing bad to say about the food in this place.Everything is cooked to perfection. This family owned restaurant is the best Cevicheria in town. They close at 5 though. Very non pretentious, but the food taste like a Michelin...
