Legendary Sandwich Spot in Lima's Historic District! The Chicharron Sandwich was Excellent and flavorful, but the Peking Chicken was the best Sandwich I think I've ever had. It had this Sweet Daikon Spread that came with it that was like a moxe between Mirin and Seaweed in Flavor, you combine that with some Leche De Tigre soaked Onions and a Five Spice Rub on the Chicken and you got something totally unique and Peruvian. The Fried Rice was also excellent! It was a massive portion, good for two people and was loaded with Flavorful Chunks of Chicharron or what other Caribbean Latin People would call Lechon. To be honest, I hate waiting — but since El Chinito blew up on TikTok, I told myself, “alright, let’s see what the hype is about.” I ended up waiting an entire hour just to get a table… yeah, one full hour! Don’t make the mistake I made: the ‘pane’ in the combos does NOT mean you can pick your sandwich - it’s for you to assemble your own. That was a costly mistake as we ended up accidentally ordering twice the appropriate amount due to the mistranslation - which the waiter only delivered with gusto, without repeating our order or cautioned on portions.
