One the problems of going to an expensive restaurant in Miraflores on your own is that you get discriminated. They either tell you there's no table for one or they send you to an area or table most people avoid.
In this case, I was offered the open a table in the "terraza" and I thought, open air next to the ocean; it can't be that bad. Big mistake. I got literally died alive; the Sun shone directly on my face and arms and there was no breeze due to, I believe, the restaurant is situated. In addition, the big shades didn't do provide any as they were fixed and could not be moved. It wasn't a good experience eating under those circumstances. So if you come to this restaurant, avoid the "terraza" completely.
As per the food, the ceviche was ok. It was juicy but the flavour was lacking; the fish was dry and chewy. A ceviche that wouldn't appeal to me come back here.
The Seco de Asado de Tira was awful. The meat was hard, dry and red; no taste of meat and uncooked. Terrible. The rice was hard and the beans didn't taste fresh.
I've given 3 stars to this place but frankly I was tempted to give one (as zero is not an option). I give them a benefit of doubt as I ate there once and...
Read moreWow! I'm glad I ended up going here. Located in Miraflores, "El Señorio de Sulco" was easily my favorite restaurant in my entire Peru trip. Usually, when I go to fancy restaurant's I am usually left wanting more, but this place was incredible.
I ended up starting with the "Rocoto Relleno" to start. For a minor warning the peppers are quite spicy here, but they were SO very good. For the main entrees, I shared the "Lomo Saltado Señorio" and "Carapulcra Limeña" dishes. Both of them were incredible.
I tried "Chicha Morada" for my first non alcoholic drink in Peru and I absolutely loved it! It's a sweet drink made from purple corn. Finally, I ended with the "Suspiro De Limeña" which was such a tasty dessert. I can't recommend this...
Read moreThis restaurant was amazing! The food was excellent and the service was also incredible. We were traveling in Peru and our Spanish isn’t that great. Our server Enrique was able to converse with us in both English and Spanish (we learned a lot from each other!). I also have food allergies and he knew what was in each dish and helped me to find something I could eat. When he brought things to the table he also advised if I could eat them or not. We felt so lucky to have him as our server and very much enjoyed his company! The other servers that helped at our table were also incredibly patient and kind! I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. I probably didn’t say enough about the food but literally everything our group had/tried...
