La porteña — Restaurant in Lima Metropolitan Area

My experience here was decent. Coffee was fantastic as was my pineapple juice. I don’t eat pork, so I ordered an omelette with vegetables (tomato and avocado). I requested it prepared well done- I do not prefer runny eggs but it came very runny on the inside anyways. That was disappointing because I waited for a replacement and it didn’t have the same garnishments the first runny omelette had.

They also have a lot of pastries and although I didn’t try any, they all looked delicious. It seems I arrived at a perfect time- the place got very busy after I ordered. I only took 1/2 a star off for my omelette but had to deduct 1/2 star for not having WiFi for guests. It doesn’t cost any extra to configure a guest WiFi network, especially since they already have WiFi for employees. Miraflores is full of tourists and we often struggle to connect to decent internet here- it’s 2023, almost 2024.. The most uninspired choripan that I've ever had. It needs to be totally revamped, especially the bread and lack of anything interesting tasting on it. My first two bites were all bread. That gets 0/5 stars. The empanada was ok, 4/5 stars. The orange juice tasted like it came from a boxed orange juice (lots of sweeteners, not freshly squeezed). The strawberry juice was ok. Fuimos a desayunar. Hay como 3 espacios (salones). Cuando preguntamos a la mesera por un espacio (con varias mesas) q estaba vacio (ya que solo habia barra adicionalmente al lugar en mencion) , nos indico que ese lugar no estaba disponible ya que no habia mozo q atienda ese espacio. De pronto, llegaron 3 personas y el jefe de salon los hace pasar a ese espacio y automaticamente les asignan mozo. Preguntamos que fue lo q cambio y la mesera sorprendida y avergonzada nos dice que eso fue lo que le habian ordenado. Al parecer los clientes que llegaron eran conocidos del jefe de salon y para ellos si habia la preferencia. Fue bastante desagradable el momento ya que la mesera se sintio mal cuando le preguntamos el porque la preferencia para otras personas.

Por otro lado, los cafes no estaban calientes, las empanadas de pollo y carne (carne molida, pensamos que seria de carne en trozos cortada con cuchillo) tenian sabor regular..puntaje 5 de 10.
