We stayed in the Hotel `Boulevard' for two months in February and March.||We had been to this hotel twice before the Corona period and we had a good time there.|In the meantime, a lot seems to have changed with the staff and management,|but more on that later.||First about the hotel:||It is an older hotel, so you have to make some compromises. The air conditioning is loud and often fails. The rooms facing the street are of course affected by traffic noise. The room layout is good. The living and sleeping areas are separated or interrupted by the bathroom.|Anyone who didn't expect luxury would not be disappointed.||In contrast to previous years, a lot has changed in the cafeteria. The waiters were very nice and accommodating. The quality of the breakfast has deteriorated. There was no longer a buffet. The rolls were very simple, there were only small sweet rolls, butter and jam. You always had to ask the waiter for slices of sausage and cheese.|After a few weeks, we shopped in the nearby supermarket in the morning and brought fresh bread and toppings for breakfast.|The waiters (especially Alex) were very nice and offered us good service as much as they could.||Since we also have family in Lima, we sometimes invited them for breakfast. Here we now had to pay separately in the cafeteria. Writing on the room, as we were used to, no longer existed.||So much for breakfast. The in-house restaurant no longer existed and is closed.||As I said, we often had family over and they were also known at reception. They had to hand in their IDs at reception FOR CHECKING, including the children.|This is the very last thing, we have never experienced anything like this. You were controlled - like in prison.|The ladies could be forgotten except for two employees, a catastrophe and hostile to the guests.|Strangely, the same could not be said of the cleaning staff, the porters and the cafeteria staff, who were extremely polite, courteous and helpful.||Our conclusion: we will no longer book this ominous hotel. Since we fly to Lima every year, we will look for another family and guest-friendly hotel where the guest is still treated...
Read moreAll staff was very helpful and kind including front desk, housekeeping (who caught us leaving our room the morning after a late check in and offered to clean it and offered toiletries and towels when we said no), café staff and the door man. We had two different rooms for two stays a few days apart. The first the air conditioning didn’t work and we assumed it was just that room and no biggie since we only had one night there. But when we checked in the second time, for a longer stay, we had a more updated room but still the air conditioner didn’t work. It is a bit noisy since it overlooks the street but we used the bathroom fan for some white noise and it was okay. The rooms are dated for sure but still clean and have what you need. It was nice to have a small fridge and sitting area separate from the bedroom. Continental breakfast was included and was great. The cafeteria wasn’t open when it was supposed to be, the restaurant wasn’t open, and I have no clue where the casino is or...
Read moreThe hotel was very clean and the staff so nice.
The swimming pool is clean and great to refresh you on a hot day. It is open from 9am to 6pm and they provide you with towels (I think they allow you to use it before 9, but you have to bring your own towel from your room)
The area around the swimming pool is nice and is open until 9:30.
The cafeteria located on the 7th floor is nice and they serve breakfast from 7 to 10.
The restaurant and bar were closed unfortunately.
The location is convenient but can be very noisy if you open the windows. Also it’s not very interesting to walk around the hotel because of the big boulevards crowded with cars.
Overall it’s a nice place to stay in...
