El Enano — Restaurant in Lima Metropolitan Area

I have been coming to el enano for years now and the sandwiches are still great but for some reason their Mango juice is a hit of miss. Sometimes is great and sometimes it’s just bland (this visit we got the bland no tasty mangoes in it, and that was a bummer). But the sandwiches are most of the time great! Just don’t look when they grab everything with their bare hands without using any types of gloves or utensils. If you can get past that part then you’ll be ok. Their club sandwich its very filling and tasty (the chicken and the sauce they marinate the chicken with while on the cooktop its amazing). Their other sandwiches like the butifarra and pork ones and also a good choice. I tried their enchiladas once and they weren’t bad at all, but will stick to the sandwiches. Their Maracuya (passion fruit) juice its also one of my favorite there along with the tangerine juice and grape juice (sometimes a little too sweet). What a fun place to eat...and the food was fantastic! Better than I thought it would be. I had the pavo (turkey) sandwich and fries. Both were great. The sandwich is quite a good size and I really liked the turkey meat (and roll and potato sticks and everything else in there). And the fries were a big surprise! Not greasy, but thick and potato-y...some of my favorite fries I've had in Lima! And you can't beat the atmosphere, sitting at night at this giant counter on a residential corner. Husband and I just landed in Lima and needed food. Reviews are good here so we thought we will share a snadwich before our next food stop. Service is quick, English is not a forte here, food is tasty. However, S/10-12 for a burger or sandwich seems hefty. FYI, you don't order with the server, you pay the cashier to the left of the restaurant, and they will look at your bill and make your order. Good thing is it opens until 1am or 3am.
