Phenomenal service, excellent prices (especially compared to the States), fresh seafood, all cooked to literal perfection. Clean location, bustling with locals, hands down the best place in Peru to eat. I come from a line of professional banquet Asian chefs and I have to say the fried rice is the best in the world which is hard for me to admit. Anyone who cooks seafood knows how easy it is to overcook. I want to come back to Peru just for this restaurant!
The waitress, I believe was probably the operator, spoke English and was incredibly hospitable. We are visiting as tourists and asked her to just surprise us. We sat next to the kitchen and every time a meal came out she showed us and explained what it was.
Started out with soup, ceviche (no fishy flavor at all!), fried seafood platter and my favorite was the fried rice with shrimp. Best part was it was ALL GLUTEN FREE so our family member with an allergy could eat it (Made with potato flour!).
Strong wok hei flavor and fresh ingredients, my favorite meal in the world so far. We’ve been twice and food was consistent, and plan on going back once more for our last meal before flying out.
As far as pricing, this is five star restaurant quality at fast casual restaurant prices in the USA....
Read moreThe secret to really good seafood is freshness. Then there’s no “fish” smell, it’s juicy, and it a pleasure to eat. We’re visiting Peru, but we know our seafood. And this place didn’t disappoint: it’s about just super fresh seafood cooked simply. Sole (actually it looks like halibut) was very fresh, perfectly cooked. Rice was well flavoured, not sticky at all with nice large pieces of fish. Tiger milk seviche was a taste explosion (not sure why another review said it was tasteless?), and scallops menier were in the thinnest layer of batter with a sauce that showed off the freshness of scallops. Bravo!
Oh, and they show which seafood they have together with dates on...
Read moreEdit: have come back a few times and had some cebiches (mixed and just fish), which unfortunately and strangely were rather lacking in salt and lime. It was almost as if the I were served a plate of just cold, raw fish. The sweet potato accompaniment came straight out of the refrigerator and tasted of old fish. Disappointing. I hope the kitchen addresses this obvious oversight. I can’t recommend the cebiche here at all. You’re better off going to La Mar (high) or the stalls at the mercado Surquillo (low).
