DO NOT STAY HERE. 2 star at best. Absolutely dated, rooms need a renovation. Jacuzzi tubs don't work, staff are rude, breakfast is big but unless you go at 5am, it's ice cold. Even the waitstaff hate their jobs. I asked about laundry and dropped it off at 9am, at 7pm it still wasn't done, at which point i learned they sent it out?!?! Where? I dont know. I was told to "just wait longer." I didn't have any clothes for dinner. My clothes arrived at 8 pm. No one apologized. When I was given the bill with the "inventory" slip, I knew it was wrong. I gave them 25 items of summer clothes, of which 12 were undergarments, so 13 items of clothes, 8 tops, 5 bottom. They had 37 items calculated and a total of $80, which i believed to be soles. When I opened the laundry, 4 of my items were not there, and I had 3 items of someone else's clothes. I then stood at the front desk for an hour trying to track down my clothes, 3 items were found, and the fourth was gone forever. When I checked out the next morning, I learned the $80 was American dollars!!!! For 8 tops and 5 bottoms. A total ripoff. The staff were unapologetic. For reference, the hotel I'm at now charges 15 soles/$4usd per kilo, whereas Colon charged $25 per kilo, had my clothes for 10 hours, and lost items. I am so absolutely disgusted with this place. I'm traveling peru for a month and this happened in the first week. Place is a dump, and they don't care about the patrons. "Colon" is the perfect name for this place. Do not...
Read moreThe location is great, I was in this hotel 5 years ago and was a wonderful experience, and for that reason i returned and I thought I will get the same service specially taking my American husband to Peru for the first time, and was terrible. They were not pleasant to speak with, so rude, the people on the front desk specially the night shift, the rooms are not renovated, the shower the water will get stuck, the shower door will not close and when I ask for a third towel, the guy so mean ask me how many people in the room and that we will get just one for person. Even they send me a towel later, just the way he treated me was not acceptable, later we asked someone from the front desk where is the closer Chinese restaurant and he told me: just walk to Pardo and there are many restaurants 🤔 🙄 umm I asked for specific one but he was just rude, later he was on his phone in the front desk talking to someone so aggressive and really; your work is not for a personal calls. Bottom line, whoever is managing this hotel is just not right, the only good thing they have is breakfast not the best but okay for what you paid. Only 2 servers were great. If you want to have a good experience this is not the place to come, if you want to save money and don't care how old, rudness and unfixed place is then...
Read moreSpend the few extra bucks for something decent. ||Despite the reviews and location, this isn’t a 4 star hotel in which you would be accustom to. If you usually stay in a motel 6 this will probably be reasonable for you. Otherwise if Hyatt, holiday inn, Etc is your baseline this will be quite disappointing.||It is clean and spacious but otherwise quite low end with hot dogs as the featured breakfast item. We walked a couple blocks to the mall last night and it was quite sketchy and felt unsafe with unsavory people following us.||I must mention the enormous flood which occurred when flushing the toilet. The wax ring seemed to have blown out of the bottom and water was gushing out. When maintenance arrived we decided to go to breakfast. Once we returned, the problem had been fixed but no one cared to clean up the mess. We had to call down for extra towels to clean the toilet water ourselves. Also FYI the water in Lima is not safe to drink so buy bottled to avoid...
