The manager at Saya Restaurant was appalling. The restaurant was nearly empty (just one other table and a VIP group of five), yet drinks took 30 minutes and not even water was offered. I asked several staff members to call the manager, Oscar, hoping he could at least get our drinks out faster. Our server—who had been attentive until then—promised he would come, but after that he stopped serving us altogether and wouldn’t even look our way.

Oscar never appeared. Instead, he spent the entire night sitting and eating with the VIP party, ignoring everyone else. Completely unprofessional, disrespectful, and pointless to even have a manager if this is how he behaves.

Keeping a manager like this is a disservice to the restaurant and its customers. For Peruvian standards a very expensive restaurant which should have service that lives up...

Probamos la cena de 3 tiempos, a través de Bigbox y todo el servicio fue A1 durante nuestra estadía.

Al hacer mi reserva, fueron muy amables y considerados con mi petición. El ambiente es impecable, un lugar tranquilo, tiene una pequeña biblioteca, un bar, un salón y la terraza. Estuvimos en el salón, un sábado por la noche y fuimos los únicos ahí.

Iniciamos la cena con una causa Saya, con mariscos escabechados, palta tostada, huevo poché y rocas de aceituna. Deliciosa y una linda presentación.

Como platos de fondo, pedimos un arroz chaufa de pato con langostinos, venía cubierta de una gran tortilla con puntos de salsa de rocoto y plátano bellaco. El pato estuvo tierno y los langostinos en su punto, el arroz tenía un sabor particular que, para mí, lo hacía ligeramente empalagoso, tal vez por tener una salsa texturizada (?). Pero esta es solo mi opinión. Además, pedimos una panceta de areacacha, vino con una cama de puré de tubérculos, quinua cocida con un aliño fresco o limón, y con chips crocantes en salsa de sachatomate. La panceta estaba extremadamente suave y de rico sabor, el puré era muy suave en sabor y de textura perfecta, los chips tenían un sabor interesante y la quinua le daba un toque fresco a todo el plato.

De beber, probamos una limonada de hierba luisa y estuvo espectacular, uno no se cansa de beberla, sinceramente.

De postre, nos trajeron un brownie con helado (no recuerdo la especificación), pero parecían tener pistachos. El brownie no me agradó mucho, tenía un sabor curioso, como a guardado (?), pero no puedo decir que sea por eso, tal vez es por la preparación (cada uno prepara los brownies a su manera), a mi novio le gustó, así que todo bien. El helado estaba rico y era refrescante probarlo.

En resumen, volvería nuevamente, sus platos y los precios que manejan, valen la pena. La atención es A1, ya sea que vayas por Bigbox o como un cliente más. El ambiente es lindo y todos son muy amables.

Punto en contra: Puede que esto no sea importante, pero lo menciono: los signos que usan en los baños, son confusos. Tuve que preguntar cuál era de mujer, ya que ambos tenían un triángulo dentro del símbolo, pero no sabía el significado. Para mí, no es muy claro y podrían usar otro, pero puede que sea algo común y simplemente no lo he visto antes.
