After visiting Peru, the good and bad, for 7 days, my (USA black) family" and I were greeted with warm welcoming smiles everywhere we went. Our last night in Peru my son decided to take the family somewhere nice for dinner. When we arrived at Amoramar we were told we needed a reservation. However, since we didn't have one we could sit in the bar area. That's understandable, so we took it. The bar area however, was located were you could not see or be seen. Ok, It is what it is. This is were it gets sad. The waiter, bartender and the hostess (I assume that's what you called him) where very rude unfriendly and treated us as if we were trash off the streets begging for a meal. They even went so far as to gather at times to glare over at us and laugh. After 15 minutes of this I decided we had had enough. I told my son we would not be eating there to pay for the water and lets go. As my son stayed behind to pay for the water (with his BLACK CARD) i made my way down to the greeter to voice my complaint. Due to the language barrier she went to get a gentle who spoke enough English to understand my dissatisfaction and strongly suggested that we stay as he would make sure we had a table in the main dinning room. He then walked away to handle the situation. A few minutes later another gentlemen, who spoke fluent english approached me sincerely apologizing over and and over again as he begged us to stay so that he could make it right. I respectfully declined.
It's amazing how the two gentle, who appeared to have the seniority and class at Amoramar were so welcoming and willing to make things right for my family and I when 3 monkeys in a suite/uniform found us beneath them! As the old saying go a monkey in a suite is still a...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Amoramar, and I can't express how fantastic the experience was! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warmth and genuine hospitality.
The ambiance at Amoramar is nothing short of enchanting. The soft, warm lighting and stylish decor create an intimate and cozy atmosphere, making it the perfect place for a romantic dinner or a special celebration.
The menu at Amoramar is a culinary masterpiece. The chef's passion for fresh, local ingredients is evident in every dish. I tried the seafood paella, and it was a symphony of flavors that danced on my taste buds. The seafood was incredibly fresh, and the saffron-infused rice was perfectly cooked. The presentation of each plate was a work of art in itself.
The staff at Amoramar was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely cared about ensuring that every aspect of my dining experience was perfect. They provided great recommendations and were happy to answer any questions I had about the menu.
To top it all off, the drink selection at Amoramar is impressive, with a wide variety of choices to complement your meal. I opted for a traditional pisco sour that paired beautifully with the meal.
Amoramar is a true gem, and I can't recommend it enough. Whether you're a food enthusiast looking for a memorable dining experience or a couple in search of a romantic evening, this place has it all. It's not just a restaurant; it's an unforgettable journey for your senses. I can't wait to return and explore more of their menu. Thank you, Amoramar, for an extraordinary culinary adventure!

Read moreOrdered Tagliatelle Cesar and a pisco sour, cost about 89 soles for the my meal and 44 soles for the drink, so not cheap.
I ordered the steak medium and it came rare, it was still literally bleading… Told the waiter who then asked if I wanted it medium to well-done (tres cuartos)… I said no, I wanted it medium (termino medio) as I ordered it… The waiter took it away and it came back ten minutes later… I tried the pasta and sauce, which had a good flavour but the steak was as tough as shoe leather… The pisco was good, which I’d expect for the price point… I left half the dish and when the waiter came she asked what the problem was… I told her that the steak was tough and that I’d left 2 of the 5 pieces of meat for the chef to try… She said she would tell the chef…
No-one came back to apologise or offer to remediate the problem… When I asked for the bill it came to about 250 soles and they even had the cheek to ask for a tip…
I left the restaurant still hungry and disappointed… I would not recommend this restaurant and certainly is not worth the prices they charge… There are a lot better restaurants in Lima with better food and half the price…
I made myself a sandwich when I got back to...
