Disappointed - the food was good enough for what we expected from a ramen place in peru, but the communication wasn’t great

Our waitress started out very kind and bubbly, encouraging us to get the “Open Bar” deal and we ordered 2 maki orders each. She then said “oh you should try this one, why not? It’s all you can eat! And you can’t order more later because we’re going to close, so order it all now” so we did - and she ended up bringing us 2 extra orders and a bowl of ramen that we hadn’t ordered originally.

As expected, we couldn’t eat all of it but when we went to pay, she shook her head and said “you have to pay 2 soles for each piece of maki you didn’t eat”

We were NOT told that there would be any penalty/payment for not finishing our food. After talking it out with many other staff members, they understood that our waitress had not given us an “Open Bar Rules” sheet (so we had no liability) and allowed us to take them to go for 1 sol per tupperware.

The food was alright, but this is one of the worst experiences we’ve had at a restaurant here. Had our server not encouraged us to keep ordering more before we could even received any of the food / told us about the penalty, it would have...

The wait staff was friendly and gave timely service. There were only a few other people eating. The food came out of the kitchen within a few minutes. The miso soup was fine, like found in any chain restaurant. The sushi roll was okay. The avocado was fresh. Each piece of the roll was supposed to have fish on top. The fish was a little sliver about 3/8" square and maybe 1/8" thick. Not really enough to taste. The ginger "cap" above the fish sliver was primarily salt. Since "Inka Cola" is not a product of the restaurant I won't give a detailed review but my recommendation would be to read the ingredients before...

They forgot my food. Another table came in 15 minutes after me, and their food came out first. They had multiple plates that were much more complex than mine.

I asked the waitress about the food and she never returned. The cookers all started to look because they knew they messed up.

She sent another waitress to eventually deliver my food.

Later, I waited for my check. I even rang the bell and noone came. I had to get up and find the waitress..

I asked if they forgot my food earlier and she lied and said no. If she was honest, I wouldn't have left the...

Hey, we’re Vicky🇵🇪 and Malte🇩🇪 from the travel blog "Traveling Is Our Passion"! We kept coming back during our time in Lima. The only thing that bothered us was that the quality wasn’t always consistent—sometimes better, sometimes worse. However, the service was always friendly, and we were greeted and bid farewell enthusiastically by the staff. This Shimaya is much larger than the one in Miraflores at Kennedy Plaza, and we never had to wait for a table.
